I'm old school and I like all the manual stuff - windows, door locks, wipers, etc. - less stuff to break, and I like the ground clearance, plastic bed and LED taillights. I am going to look into adding the front tie down hoops that are now coming standard on the '12 models. The weak cup holders are a minor irritation, as are the tight pedal spacing, the soft paint, the noisy roof and no bed light. The one big, baffling thing I don't quite get (or like) is that the electronic anti-slip only works going forward - it shuts off when you shift into reverse! Ice and snow don't care which way you want (or have) to go! The second, and more-minor, irritation is how insistent the seatbelt alarms are. Still, after nearly 4 years, I remain extremely happy with my truck!

Yellow, I agree with you on the Satellite Radio reception, it sucks! Driving under a tree, a single tree, knocks it out. I also don't like how I can't rewind the satellite radio, as I could on my old car with my old dash mounted receiver. That was a big part of why I bought a satellite radio in the first place. I was thinking about just going out and buying a dash mounted receiver and putting that in. Which seems redundant but if it'll boost the reception and I can rewind live radio, I'll do it.

Well, this weekend I decided to give Pandora streaming over bluetooth from my phone with an unlimited data plan a try. I was very impressed with the results, to the point that I suspended my XM subscription. I got a $95 refund from XM and signed up for a yearly Pandora subscription for $36. You can listen to music on Pandora free but the subscription eliminates commercials.

Well, I have a 12 year old 1st gen, so some of my problems are age and neglect issues...

Rides rough - Even with new stock shocks, it rumbles and shakes violently over the smallest of cracks on the road.

Something is rattling inside my drivers side door - the rough ride amplifies this

The PCV design leading to MAF sensor failure - also dead spots in powerband and check engine light

The shifting is very notchy. Going to try to change gear oil to fix that.

Dont really care for my blue cloth interior, but it is what it is...

Ride is a bit crappy, even stock.
Sound system rattles the door panels and rear panel.
    Tailgate doesn't lock.

Currently my truck is pissing me off with the bouncey rough ride. Rough I can deal with, but these tires kick like a damn mule.

Duratrac 285/70 17. I got them at 35psi. I don't know if I should get them balanced again or what, but I only have about 1500 miles on them since new. They pretty much ride like sh*t but I still love my truck.

1st Gen: Seats hurt my back after awhile driving, no arch support or settings, second issue is map light blinds me at night, shines in my face more than in my lap :( 3rd problem was the cheap plastic hinges on the quarter windows (replaced with metal ones now).

I REALLY DON'T CARE FOR THE HEADLIGHTS ON MY 2011 SR5 4X4 ( NOT BRIGHT ENOUGH FOR COUNTRY DRIVING ) My son has a better horn on his toy truck than that on my Tacoma

It does not have a impenetrable force field to protect it from flying rocks.

The stereo in this thing is a joke.. Sucks period.
Fm/am sounds louder and better than satellite or when playing through my phone.. Most other cars I've been in were complete opposite.

Light up the damn switches man!!!!

Power back window and defrost.. This is 2012!
No heated mirrors? Again this is 2012!

I bought the truck because i love them and I don't need a full size. But you I think Toyota needs to wake up and add some simple things to these trucks for the price they are asking.
