Tired of my lug nuts only grabbing 2-3 threads fully and being a safety concern I looked into longer wheel studs as a solution.

After finding a few options for longer wheel studs, The amount of work required to swap them was a little more then I wanted to bother with so...

I found a new easier and just as effective solution.

Longer lug nuts, They are the same spline pattern and just add a little extra lip for screwing onto more of the available wheel stud.

They come in chrome or black chrome, Clearly I chose the black.

Ordered 24 total for a full set. as well as another spline drive adapter just in case I leave one at Speed Freaks again..HAHAHA

Highly Recommended for anyone running aftermarket aluminum rims with a thicker lip are where the lug nuts go.

Took about 3-4 days from order to delivered.

    I ordered these from Wheelersoffroad.com photo1-52_1b23959378f8be01ae4a5ea611ff6853dedc420c.jpg

Ah, the rigidity part makes a lot of sense....

And no, I mean a rounded bend (not sharp). That seems to be the only that reason #2 makes sense to me.... because the sharp bend (even though it's still about 45 degrees) is exerting pretty much the same stress on the leaf pack as just a flat piece a plate at full droop right? I would think that you'd need rounded edges on the plate if you're concerned about the sress caused by the sharp angles...

While on the wheel subject. You said aluminum wheels have a thicker lip.
Would American Racing Baja wheels need those special lugs? I wouldn't think so but the guys at discount tire mounted them with there own spline lugs, so I don't know how much thread they are holding on to.

Looks really good on your truck Mac! I think the square light cutouts you had me do really work well with the square headlights on the 95.5-97, kind of ties the bumper into the truck better than the round cutouts. And looks like how you angled and mounted the hoop fits nice as well. :)
Looks like I can do $30+$5 shipping for the plates, or $60+ shipping on a complete U bolt flip kit. Just let me know if you want one man!

Ya. I actually cut a hole in the top plate. Put the hoop in it and weld it form the bottom and top for a little extra support. The square does kind of match the headlights.

I'll let you know as soon as I figure out what I am doing. I am wanting to follow Montes idea with relocating the shocks. I'll let you know as soon as I decide. along wit sliders maybe...

Damn that probably took some work to drop the hoop in like that! On that note, if welded solid, that thing aint moving even only welded on top! Had one that was in a wreck when the freight truck lost control in the ice last winter and rolled, but it came out a little scraped up but not bent or dented.:D Imagine several hundred to several thousand pound pallets and crates of hardware smashing into it at freeway speeds. Crazy.
