If you did a poll (and probably someone has), you'd probably find that about...

    25% Hate the scoop
25% Don't care for it, but wouldn't stop them from buying
25% Hate to admit they like it, but wouldn't care if it wasn't there
    25% Love it

I personally find myself in that 3rd group. Yeah, it doesn't actually do anything, but I think it looks kinda sharp and isn't over the top. I have a TRD Sport, but the scoop certainly did not play into my decision making.

Bottom line, however, is that in the end, it is nothing more than "ornamental"...which makes it easy to make fun even by those who do kinda like it.

Or fixing rattles, wind noise, leaf packs, faulty AUX inputs, etc. Whatever. Still the best mid-size truck out there by far.

there probably is a market for it. not everyone who buys a Tacoma does the rock crawling thing.

also, most leather in most vehicles is synthetic, except for the actual bottom/back of the seat.

I refuse to discuss my politics in a dialogue about truck trim levels (like most people, I suppose)...it reminds me of my two uncles who generally bring down every family reunion. One can make arcane correlations to why he has hail damage on his car because Ronald Regan served as president. The other? Well, he can easily place blame on his peeling vinyl siding on Obama. It is just antisocial.

And no need to worry about my panties, I'm going commando. :D
