I personally find myself in that 3rd group. Yeah, it doesn't actually do anything, but I think it looks kinda sharp and isn't over the top. I have a TRD Sport, but the scoop certainly did not play into my decision making.

Bottom line, however, is that in the end, it is nothing more than "ornamental"...which makes it easy to make fun even by those who do kinda like it.

Maybe they should of spent the time and effort on heated mirrors, etc.

 

Or fixing rattles, wind noise, leaf packs, faulty AUX inputs, etc. Whatever. Still the best mid-size truck out there by far.

there probably is a market for it. not everyone who buys a Tacoma does the rock crawling thing.

also, most leather in most vehicles is synthetic, except for the actual bottom/back of the seat.
