I think mineral basin might require armor...

 

I wouldn't recommend mineral basin without sliders.

Yeah, if we want more people to come we might want to stay away from that. I'll be down to do a run up mineral basin with someone when I get my sliders on.

 

Its getting close. We better decide. That trail in bountiful is probably snow free by now. There is the trail to that abandoned town in Tooele that was discussed.
Is there anything good in Payson canyon?

 

Also, we need to update the list on pg 1. Trowbocop is out. I think a couple others dropped out too.

 

I'm not happy but it looks like I'm going to be out of town again for this trail run... My inlaws want to go to their cabin for the weekend, after almost losing it in the Church Camp fire we are feeling pretty lucky.

I want to meet up with you guys on one of these trail runs. I have the truck in the body shop after hitting a deer. I will be out of town next weekend anyways.

 

Okay, I'm thinking we pick either 5-mile or Kennecott. 5-Mile might be a little more difficult then Kennecott although last time I went my truck was bone stock and the tires were nearly slicks.

when you go through middle canyon into toolele (or however you spell it) from butterfly canyon, it looked like there are trails all through there. I could be wrong though. Nice drive up to the top of the copper mine though.

 

Have you done a run here before? Are you familiar with the area. We could do this and just let you lead. Damn I wonder if I can get a cb by Saturday

 

I've only done the butter canyon and then took the right down to toolee (paved road with some gravel). It's a great view of the mine and the valley at the top. I don't mind leading, but it depends on where we want to go.

 

Or we could go find some mud. Just saying..

 

I would like to go if it's a stock friendly run. My gen1 crawler is out of service for now so I'll be drivin my 2nd gen DCLB stock for now.

 

I only have a 3in lift and bigger tires, most things we've been talking about doing you'll be able to drive no problem.

 

Its too late in the year for this location but early in the spring just as the snow is melting this place used to be sweet. Or even if there is still some snow it makes if funner. I have not been here since 2005 when I had my jeep. It is west of park city and north of jordanelle reservoir.

1st photo shows the general area to reference.

2nd photo show the loop. I have no idea if there is any building going on yet in that area. If not its a great place to spend the day. Start off at the gun range shooting of shit, muddin, crawling then there is an old/old park city dump to find old glass bottles.

If anyone wants to scope out while dry let me know I'll go for a drive.

 

Well if that's the case then count me in. Where and when are we meeting? Cabelas,rei,hogz wallow?

 

Guys we need to get this decided quick. I'm thinking meeting at Cabela's say 1000 in the morning and either heading to 5-Mile or Kennecott. Challenge or no challenge?
