OP now that we've all had our say; you do NOT need a Lawyer to plead guilty. Ok everyone, piss away!

Wow, what a crash...you are lucky to be alive. You get another chance, use it.

If there were any other vehicles in the accident you are again lucky to not get sued for every penny you have, again, hope you make the most of your life. I've had several friends die in accidents, a couple were not their faults (and they were incredible people).

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
That's some bad damage, glad you're ok OP! Idk why people are flipping out about drunk drivers, they happen everywhere all the time. Out here in Montana, a DUI is likely being handed out every hour. And as a few others said, nobody deserves to get in a accident, drunk or not.

OP keep your head up and just be glad no one was hurt. back when i first joined the corps i got a DUI. luckily i got it on base so i didnt have all this civilian crap to go through but thats neither here nor there. all i can say is learn from this and try to help people in the future from doing it. its a great lesson to learn but it sucks having to go through it. But it seems like this shook you up pretty good and i believe that you'll be just fine. Just keep your head up and life will still go on.

This thread is ridiculous with people saying how terrible the OP is and anything else to make him feel worst.

DUI's are like the scarlet letter. 95% of the population has done it at some point (whether they admit to it or not) but only a few people end up getting caught and the rest of the world likes to point a finger and try and tell them how terrible they are.

For those riding the moral high ground in this thread, how many of you have never done ANYTHING illegal that could get you or someone else hurt? I'm guessing not many.

While were on the subject, who here can truly say they never rode or took a ride from someone who had been drinking? I'd bet everyone has went to dinner once in their lives and rode home with someone drinking. Or caught a ride with someone home from the bar.

OP, if you're going to get a lawyer you need to delete this thread and not say a word to anyone about your case except your lawyer. It can be used against you. Property damage can bump the DUI to a felony and this can be used as evidence. My .02$.

While were on the subject, I hope most of you realize how unconstitutional a lot of DUI laws are, but the MADD lobbyist allow it to happen by appealing to our emotions. I'm personally not a fan of our constitutional rights being eroded.

OP brother first want to say I'm glad you're ok.. and second I think it takes a lot of guts to come on here and post your wrong doings. I highly doubt there are a lot of us that would. IMHO I believe its God's way of telling you he has a purpose for your life. Even though it damaged certain poperty of yours and others; No one and no law can take away the lessons you have learned. Keep your head up OP... Life will go on.. Praying for ya!

Sorry didn't mean to ruffle anyones feathers. I actually was thinking of the episode where they were trying to drive while needing to pee. I've never even been drunk (a fact I am proud to state) so I can't tell how it would be to drive drunk, let alone walk drunk. I have on the other hand driven while tired and it can be dangerous. I wouldn't argue against that. I have had friends that fell asleep while driving and had some bad wrecks.

Yeah, driving while tired is terrible. I've also had friends wreck badly while driving late nights or early mornings to work or home. IMO in most cases much more dangerous than driving drunk (unless you are absolutely shit faced/can't even stand up drunk).

I spend a bit of time looking at fatigue due to my line of work....I haven't driven drunk but I have driven tired and if that is any indication...Don't want to try drunk driving.

I have to chime in and add to what others have said about fatigue and drugs (prescriptions included) being a factor to accidents. I also strongly feel that elderly driving plays a HUGE factor in accidents. The older people get the BIGGER their vehicle gets! I believe that reaction time of an 85 year old driver is just as bad (if not worse) as a borderline "drunk" driver! I think something needs to be done at the DMV about this! More testing as you get older! They can get their drivers licence renewed for and never have to go back for another 8 years! At least that's what the renewal date is for mine.

OP, I hate it for ya man! I obviously would have never came to a public forum and admitted to all that but I have to agree with what a few have said that there are PLENTY of people out there that have done this before! Most just won't admit it. Not saying at all that it's acceptable.
