I plan on buying Wheelers 16x8 type a wheels. I am going to need the spidertrax 1.25" spacers if I want to run 285/75r16 tires?

No, if you put spacers on those it would make any rubbing you have more severe.

Yes, the wheelers type a steelies already have 4.5" bs, which is ideal for fitting 285s on a 2nd gen. Pushing the wheels out further will increase the width of the turning arc, leading to rub on the outside of the tire in the fender well.

In fact TW member zombie runner tired running spacers on top of his 4.5" bs rims, stock fenders, and couldn't even turn out of his driveway.

ATX Mojaves with 265/75 16 Hankook Dynapro ATMs, Spidertrax 1.25" spacers (front and rear), Bilstein 5100 all around up front set at 1.75", Blacked out badges, Pioneer AVIC D3 DVD/NAV Head Unit, K&N Air Filter, Tyger Tri Fold Tonneau Cover, Rockford Fosgate Punch Speakers.
I have pro comp steelies with 1.25 Spidertrax spacers due to break caliper rub, had some serious rubbing.

With the wheelers offroad wheels you should be good even with 285s. Wish I had went with them, but I initially wanted to stick with 17s. Either way I am 100% happ with my truck.

You dont need a spacer with the wheeler steelies, they are guaranteed to clear the caliper. On the other hand, the Summit Racing steelies DO NOT clear the caliper so do not order those if your looking to run wheels without spacers. Just a word of advice.

3in pro comp lift, some cosmetics, the rest is yet to come...
What would be a good tire size to prevent tire rubbing with the 16x8 wheels either AorB on a truck with 3" lift all around?

Get the type A. If you want to trim, 285/75/16, if you don't want to trim, 265/75/16

So if I wanted to run a 33 x 12.5 with 886 coils upfront and an add a leaf in the rear one would go with the type B?

Still type a. Type b is ideal for first gens.

You're going to have to do a lot of cutting with that setup either way though.
