squeaky sound near rear tires

    i hit a hole in the parking lot yesterday and i think thats what caused the sound. my dad thinks its rear shocks. we jumped up and down on the rear bumper and i heard the similar sound. i mostly hear it after a complete stop and im easing off the bakes. anything else it could be please let me know!!:(:confused:

    i recently started hearing a squeaking coming from the back of my truck but i cant find exactly where its coming from its starting to drive me crazy :frusty:

    i have this problem too sometimes. mine will squeak until i let off the gas and coast. would love to know a solution

    Search for Leaf Spring TSB. I think that is what the problem is, but i am not sure what year(s) it applies to.

    i had heard about that but doesnt that add a leaf and make it ride higher, i want to go down not up...

    4.10 gears, sliders, and lots of buttons.
    To locate the noise, Have someone move arond in the bed, enough to move the suspension, if you cant hear it, touch different suspension components with your hand. You may be able to feel it. If its the springs, take a presure washer to them. It could be just some dirt.

    You can disassemble the leafs and fix the issue. There is something in between the leafs that fails I believe. You want to lower (as in slam) yours correct?

    isnt that for if you bottom out while hauling stuff? i've never hauled anything or bottomed out so dont think thats it

    yea my dad moved around in the bed. i hear on both sides and sometimes itd be an equal sound to where it sounded like the center. think i might just get new rear shocks

    Just drop the back down about an inch to kinda level it off with front...

    Disconnect the rear shocks and try to duplicate the sound. That will tell you whether or not it is the leafs.

    After off roading in mud or water my leaf spring start making a squeeking noise. I took it to the dealer once and they said dirt had gotten on the friction pads between the leafs and possibly in the bushings.

    They said all they did to fix it was spray some sylicone based lubricant with teflon on the leaf spring friction pads and bushings. The noise went away for a year or so.

    A few years later, after my truck was out of warrenty the noise came back. So, I purchased some of that spray and now the squeak is gone again.
