What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Lift, wheels n tires. Installed two Kicker 10s behind seat boxed with 1000 watt kicker amp. Nfab light bar and two Hella 500 Black magics goin on this weekend.

 

Refilled twice, installed back-up camera, waited for my weathertech floorliners to come in, and tried to put in a muich louder horn (for another time...)

 

Torqued down my U bolts. I initially set the torque wrench to 40 Ft/Lb and gave it a go just to get a feel for how tight they were and it took some turning before I got a click. I torqued them to 60 Ft/Lb because I'm always a bit paranoid about doing some damage. It is amazing how much less rattling I get when going over bumps now. Tomorrow I'm going to torque them to the 73 Ft/Lb spec I've read about on a couple of threads here.

The ride isn't too bad. I think I'll need to crank up the front a bit to match tough I won't know that until the springs settle in.

What do you mean by too bad? Harsh? They will settle. I had an OME on my 2002 and I got the lower spring rate springs. Eventually, I regretted it. This time I'm getting the 886's. Probably very harsh and Jeep like at the beginning. But. They will settle eventually and last a long time. And I like a rough ride.

 

The new OME " x " coils don't sag like the old ones did

Awesome! So am I wrong to still want the 886's? I like a stiff ride. And again. I'm not playing here.

 

All I'm saying is they won't sag , so basically what you start out with is where they will stay

I have 885x coils on my DCLB 4x4 , I got 2 1/2" of lift and it hasn't moved at all in a year and half

I mean the ride isn't as rough as I thought it might be. Especially with the added spring pack.
