Some parts may be, but not all of reality. It is never the case that a square circle exists because by definition circles aren't square. So that would mean that some absolutes do exist. The question does not ask if everything is absolute; only do absolutes exist.

The question is "Is there absolute truth?"

So if some parts of reality are flexible, then they are not absolute.

"Is there absolute truth?" is a question of existence. If you can point to at least one absolute truth, then you must answer yes, absolute truth does exist. If you believe that circles cannot be square, then you should answer yes, because that's an absolute truth. It is absolutely true that all circles are not square. It's not asking if all things are absolute truths.

Just because you can point to something that is not an absolute truth, that doesn't mean absolute truths don't exist.

It's like asking, "Are there poodles?" It's true that some dogs are not poodles. It doesn't follow that all dogs are not poodles just because you can point to an example that is not a poodle.

I am not denying that absolute truths do not exist. That would just defy common logic.

My argument is that because reality is flexible and variable , there is no absolute truth ( as a whole).

If you look at his statement at the bottom, he was looking for any absolute truth. There was no mention of "as a whole."

However, even if you believe reality is flexible and variable, is it possible you just don't know the underlying principles that would make it absolute? Just because you perceive something as flexible or variable, that doesn't necessarily mean that there isn't an absolute truth principle at work. To know for certain, one would have to be omnipotent.

That is just how I think or perceive. Plus I have had three hours of sleep in the last 48 hours. I am not even sure I will remember half of what I posted tonight.

Sure, there's absolute truth - there's ALWAYS that - whether that truth is "yes" or "no" is a different story - either way, in the end, there's always the truth.

If you believe in nothing, then the truth is, "there's nothing".

If you believe in somethnig, then the truth is, "there's something".

I'm a Christian so you know what my beliefs are. My truth is that there is a God. If you have a different truth then you're certainly entitled to it - but one way or another we'll all find out what the truth is one day...

..and I LOVE the lamp. I'm looking for one in the FS section LOL - I want one with a locker, though... and sliders.
