Meh...I'm a web designer and mountain biker...as much as I would like a longer bed, it isn't a necessity, and I enjoy the manual. As for looks, I'm married with two kids...what do I care about looks?

Short box on DCs and long box on ACs (not that there's a choice on the AC).

If you're using it as a sport/off-road truck I think they perform better with the shorter frame than the longer frame.

Meh, lifts are to accommodate taller tires, taller tires are typically for off road clearance, if the truck is mainly used for off roading I can see how a short bed would be preferred. A long bed is typically for those who use the bed and need the room, and those who lift heavy things in and out often, so less lift would be optimal.

Of course there are also those who do both, and those who just do everything because they're approval junkies, and I'm done typing.

Why is the word "looks" sometimes more prevalent than "function" though?

short bed because 6 speed is just way more fun

I load the crap out of my short bed daily as I'm a contractor, it just takes a little patience and skill and I can usually get everything in or on the racks.

Even though my bed is 20% shorter than a long bed my cap is 20% taller than regular so I guess I still have the same cubic capacity under my shell as you Mr OZ-T DCLB lover?? haha

    DCSB FTW again!

53 pages of back and forth. Good thing Toyota sells both short and long:)

As for me, I just ordered a DCLB- but I've had one ton "real" long beds my whole life so a Taco long bed should feel like a sports car to park. To me it's like 4x4 (getting a long bed)--- ya may not need it daily but when you do you sure won't feel lame.
