This is so sad. I still do not understand how somebody could do this to people they do not even know. Its not like it was a political statement or a way to martyr oneself. It is just a random senseless act of violence. And the other scary thing is that I almost took the wife and friends to go see this at the very same theater.

went to that theater once..would never go back..

middle of the movie saw a guy in front of us watching pr0n on his phone during the movie...

a fight broke out later in the theater that resulted in someone's shoe being thrown at some guy who ran down the stairs and fell halfway down...after the show, a huge fight broke out between that same party as the guy is holding the other one's shoe in his hand as a trophy...

never had any desire to go back there...

what's terrible is that this is not gang related or anything like that...this is just some sick individual with some major problems taking out unnecessary forces against innocent people who were just out enjoying life...

Human intelligence gives the capacity for unbelievable good and the most heinous evil. I would have no hesitation killing that man if given the chance. He will have his reckoning.

If there was a taco gathering and I wasn't informed, I will feel left out too. Anybody have any info on it? What is bww?

How bad is it when you have to consider bringing your gun to the movies?

Thought never crossed my mind until today. I did not see any reason for it. But some people prepare for the worst each day and want to make sure they have a fighting chance if threatened.

It doesn't matter man. I carry to protect my wife from being assaulted, child being kidnapped and to protect those that I can.
Back in 2008 I did some volunteer training for Westy PD and the scenario was an active shooter in a theatre. Never thought it would happen, just goes to show you.
I carry where I can legally carry. Doesn't matter what part of town, good or bad. Crap happens.

Good point. I need to start this process. It appears it will only get worse before it will ever get better.

It's sad to me when reality/events/other people elicit this kind of fear in good people.

Me too! Because of things like this. So sad for the people just wanting to see a movie.

Fear is a human instinct. Carrying a gun is IMO not a fearful reaction in most cases. People are preparing for the worst now and knowing how to protect yourself when threatened is not an act of fear. But others do not see it that way and they are entitled. It is just sad that I have to process in my head before I go to the theater the implications of this decision and how I need to be prepared.

I will now be counting rows and looking for exits as I enter the theater similar to being on a plane. Maybe I have just been ignorant until now.

I always look for 2 exits in theaters. Everyone will generally use the main entrance where they entered

Right but now it is full of smoke so I will grab the back of the seat or count the stairs so I have something else to guide me. See that part is just sad but a fact of life.

Even worse not to mention wanting to make sure my family was safe while trying to exit.

I count exits when I go any where. I sit Facing he main door while at a restaurant when ever possible. It's not that I'm scared it's that I know I'm willing to do something when the time comes just like Sean.
