Sliders: Revenge-Fab vs. Shrockworks

Just curious on the overall opinion. Looks like Revenge-fab makes an excellent product, and a great price.

I'm having a hard time finding pictures of how far the revenge-fab sliders stick out. I like how the Shrockworks sliders are nicely tucked into the body, sticking out past the body only a few inches. The Revenge-fab sliders seem to be more flat, causing them to stick out a bit more. Is this an accurate observation?

Like I said, I can't find good pics to compare the two. I've found pics looking from the top down on Shrockworks, but not for Revenge-fab sliders.

not bashing revenge fab at all but i agree. thats the only reason i didnt get in on the group buy. if only they were angled up towards the body a little bit more. straight out like that just isnt my style, thats why i dont have tube steps or anything.

Did you bolt yours on or weld? If bolted, was it a pain or pretty straight forward?




I did look at the photos on the Revenge-fab website. And from what I can tell, they are a bit too flat and stick out slightly too much. I wasnt sure if I was getting the wrong impression from the photos or not though. The design seems very similar - just looking for first hand experience and observations.

 

I believe the revenge fab ship without the mounting plates welded on so it would be pretty simple to hit the end of the tube with a grinder changing the angle slightly before attaching the plate which would allow you to put them at any angle you choose

So I assume the bolts in all locations go all the way through the frame, with a washer/nut on the other end? I can't see it being very sturdy if you just try to thread a bolt into the frame metal.

Did you run into issues with the fuel lines or anything else? Did you have to make adjustments to the mounting brackets to account for areas in the frame that blocked a flush mount?

 

Definitely good points. Just got done looking at your build thread - definitely impressive.

As far as what I'm going to use them for - probably nothing hard core at all. But If the Shrockworks sliders are the ones that I like best, then thats what I'll get. I'm not going to sacrifice for something inferior - within reason .

Basically, I'm looking at Sliders because I like the look (don't like tube steps, nerf bars, or running boards). I like the protection they provide - even against door dings. And then of course the offroad protection, but again I probably won't find myself in the worst of situations where I high center on my rocker panel. And of course the lady would love a bit of a step into the truck.

 

That actually reminds me... Due to the fact of the Shrocks sliders not sticking out quite as much as others, do they still serve as good protection from door dings etc?

I saw your post about your BIL's jeep sliding into your truck, and the sliders saved it. So I would assume they stick out at least even with the door handle on the door.

He's more than willing to customize the sliders. I know a few guys on a different board have asked for a different angle on the sliders and he built them to their specs.

I have revenge fab sliders and am happy with how they stick out. I have ran thru an eroded creek with steep walls where my truck has slipped down the wall and my sliders caught before the top of the cab hit the wall.

Though I have never seen a pair of Shrockworks to compare the two.

my sliders are angled up 20 degrees but i also build sets custom to whatever people want...

 

i'm in the same situation here. I don't use them for anything hardcore and want them for door dings protection. I went to their shop last thursday and checked it out on a new 4runner (they didn't have one on a taco) but they do stick out about 1/4 inch or more from the furtherest line on the door, that would give plenty of protection from smaller, lower cars it probably won't protect from big Trucks and SUV since my truck is just stock height. And maan these shrock are stout, very good quality and awesome powder coating, just hate the waiting time.
