Proper prep is just as important as skill. As long as you hit every surface you weld with a grinder first and bevel all of the edges you wont have a problem. If you do niether you run the risk of it falling apart after awhile.

We have to do three weld hor, ver and overhead. Then they send them out to be checked and certified. I am sure the overhead will suck also but you are right about the practice part I go once a week for 4 hours it is a ten week course but you can test out when ur welds are ready

That's AWESOME Rob! Boston's first album (the round kind with the grooves in it) was the second one I ever owned. Van Halen's first was my first album. Then I got into the KISS thing and owned all of them back in the day!

Thanks! I didn't buy it because I've never used one and am afraid of messing up my paint. With good ole elbow grease, I know I'll get tired before I do any real damage, at least thats the theory. When using a buffer, do you apply the product with the buffer and still do the 'wax off' by hand?

On a side note, that Fluid Film stuff seems to be pretty decent. I used it on the chrome rear bumper and my rusty old receiver. It started sizzling when it hit the rust and polished to a mirror finish on the chrome bumper. We'll see how it stands up over time. I bought a Fluid Film undercoating kit and I'll do the whole frame this Fall also. Hopefully it stands up to New England salty roads!

I put it on with one pad and take it off with a different pad. Very easy and you won't damage your paint.
Check out the junk man :D

Whoa... That's pretty crazy! I like the start of the video "Some of you are still afraid of these things, you think you'll burn the paint, cause damage, etc". It's like that video was made for me, haha.

Looks like I'll have to invest in one of those if I'm going to keep doing my own detailing. The first time took me 6 hours, this last time took around 4 hours and a lot of elbow grease.

I love my new truck but miss my Tacoma
Well I had a productive weekend. Yesterday got my front and mid skids to match up. Then I primed and started bed lining them. Today I finished up those skids with with the bed liner then painted my wheels and had my tires mounted/balanced. Lastly I remounted my front skid and put the second one in the bed. I just checked on my sliders and UPS just updated them for the first time since Tueday. They came into Chelmsford MA this morning and left at 8:59 so they should be here tomorrow! Now just to drill the frame for the skid and sliders, prime/bedline them and bolt them on. Anybody want to help?
