Just rolled 20k miles on my 2012. I've greased the driveline and changed the oil like normal.

What else should I be doing (if anything) or what service should I be doing soon? Diff fluids? Tranny fluid? Air filter? Blah blah blah.

    Thanks.

Ps If you know of a thread going over this, feel free to link it.

Manual trans? No limited slip? No additive. [IMG] For both trans and rear end.

Change out the rear end lube; you'll be glad you did.

I do my own shit to our vehicles.

As for the rear fluids, how many quarts of 75-90 should I get to do the front an rear ones? And do I need any additive for either? Locker in rear.

You can find fluid amounts in your manual. IIRC its like 3 and 2 or something. No, no additive.

So I can help you understand...

Since you have an open front there is nothing there but gears, all you need is regular fluid.

With your locker in the rear you have a locking collar, a shift fork, and then essentially regular gears. The locker requires nothing special, just needs normal lubrication.

If you have a mechanical limited slip you would need an additive as you would have clutches or discs with friction material that need special additives to work properly.

With an auto LSD I believe they require no additives as you have no clutch packs the work is all done by braking and a computer. How that works similar to the tire that has least traction will spin on an open differential. The computer senses one wheel spinning at a high RPM and automatically applies the brakes to just that wheel. With the way a differential works this means the other tire will now spin as it becomes the tire easiest to spin. Basically anyway...

So no, you need no additives front or rear. A lot of fancier gear oils include additives in the gear oil itself btw, but this won't harm a normal differential.
