One day i was out digginin the mud after a rain storm in 4 low and high and it worked perfectly fine. the next day i was driving up a canyon and it wouldnt engage and the 4wd light wouldnt turn on. its the manual stick 4wd. it goes into the low gear, but remains in 2 wheel drive. i checked the fuse and it is fine. however the vacuum line broke off where it connects to the axle. i replaced the nipple and it did nothing. is there anything else that i can check or anything you think may be wrong?

Even tho it's a manual stick. There is still an electric actuator for the ADD to engage the front diff even on manual sticks though.

i checked the vacuum line thinking it might have sucked up some water and mud but it looked clean and wasnt blocked. i also checked all of the electronic plugs i could find that connect into the t case. where/how would i check the electric actuator? thanks for the input guys.

Ahh, i see, well not a 100% on this (I'm auto) but pretty sure theres an electric engage/disengage button option for 2001 on for 4wd for auto & manual, I've got an automatic but still have to engage transfercase with mech. lever/shifter

i will have to take a closer look at all of the electronics that take part in the 4WD system. I dont have the electronic button to engage/disengage. just the manual stick.
