Anyone into R/C?

Any charger should work just fine, as long as its for the proper battery type. Ni-Mh I assume? And the charger should have a Tamiya style plug.

 

Brand new to the RC hobby and last week I bought a Traxxas Rustler VXL, a Animus 18SC, and a Hobby Zone Super Cub DSM. I have only taken the SC out of the box, and for under $100, that little truck is fast and fun.

I haven't even taken the Super Cub out of the box as I'm trying to find/buy a quality RC flight simulator (evidently, highly recommended) for my (Intel) Mac computers--anyone know of one that is direct install?

Thanks for your help with this. I have more questions on modding the Rustler but will save those for later.

 

Look into a Phoenix sim, not positive about the compatibility with Mac though.

A quick says yes, if your running Windows.

 

Hey guys --

My Castle SCT sidewinder started smoking when I connected the battery and moments later, the battery caught on fire. Everything was connected the correct way, I dont know what happened. Has this happened to anyone before?? I had just glued the speed control and wanted to play with it after it dried. Thanks.

I think they have bad rep from going bad.
Probably something went bad inside the ESC and shorted out the battery

Iv added it all up, to have it converted to a 1:5 crawler is $210, havnt been able to find the hannibal body. If they had the cross posts in stock I think id have it ordered by now..
