Considering selling my 2012 Access cab V6, Auto, 4x4, 6,000 miles. Any idea what I should try and get for it? How much do they depreciate off the lot?

you may be better to trade on the new Jeep.

I'm not sure of Vermont law, but here in FL...one only pays sales tax on difference between the trade value and the new vehicle value.

and, the Tacoma has an outstanding trade value, one of the best in the biz.

Power windows and locks no remote though. I only paid 25k with tax and all. I got the $1,000 college rebate. May try and trade it in if they will through keys with me.

Ahhh okay good. You got the convenience package then. That helps with your trade or selling price. Make sure you mention that. Good luck.

Missing My Last Tacoma --- Had 11 Toyota trucks in the past and many other Toyota cars too.
    .
    FWIW ... I traded my 2011 Tacoma, 4x2, DC-SB, TRD, OR (9,980 miles) on a ... 2012 Tacoma 4x4, DC-SB, TRD, OR (new @ 8 miles) (basically same truck, just a year newer and in a 4x4).

My 2011 was $27,200.00 and I got $26,000.00 on trade ... the dealer also discounted the 2012 4x4 to about invoice.

After crunching all the numbers and option differences ... it cost me about $1,710.00 (model for model + 4x4 option price difference) to trade up 1 year and basically get another Tacoma with ... "first 10,000 miles of cherry mileage" off the speedo clock.

I have done this several times and it works out about the same each time with a popularly equipped Tacoma. .... i.e. for less than $2,000.00 to use a brand new Tacoma for a year and 10,000 miles ... which is very cheap for any vehicle.
IMO ... you can NOT do this with any other pickup.

In Georgia and in my county ... I have to add (in my head) 7% to any direct sale (2011) and repurchase (2012) because I have to pay that 7% tax again if I buy outright without a trade.

OP ... A good deal for you would be Jeep at invoice and drop $2,000.00 (or less) on your Tacoma.

A good deal is not a good deal unless BOTH vehicles are priced OK to you.

Sounds like you got a great deal SOS. That gives me a lot more hope for atleast a straight trade.

    Correct.

It cost me about 5K over two years to own a new Tacoma. And would have been less, but I traded a SR5 4x4 with only a few options, steelie rims and bald Duncraps, for a TRD Sport 4x4 loaded.

don't sell yourself short. as noted, Tacoma has outstanding resale/trade value.

most new vehicles see about a 20% depreciation hit "off the lot"...Tacoma is probably closer to 10%.

FWIW ... I see some used Tacomas (Sports & TRDs) selling at new truck prices in the Atlanta area.

PS ... I bought one of my first Jeeps in White River Junction, VT ... a mid 1970s (forget exact year) CJ-5 or CJ-7.

Subaru's were hot up there too ... but Tacomas were not invented at the time and I have no idea how popular they are up there now.

Just this morning I went to the dealer (my friend works there, I brought him plums from my tree :)) and I saw a base single cab with 19k miles, 2011 with extended 7 year/100k warranty and they were asking 18,900 for it. He said the same thing 2012 with no ext warranty was going for 17,900.

    Crazy.

Tacomas are everywhere up here I would guess it is the most driven truck in VT. I do remember the dealer telling me that my truck would go up in value when I drove it off the lot.

And if you invest $10,000 in mods you'll get at least twice that when you sell it
