WHAT TYPE/BRAND BLACK RIMS SHOULD I GET for 5 LUG???

Im gonna buy a set of new wheels for my 5 lugger, and I just bought 235/75/15 Generals to wrap around them. Theyre so many differrent types and style but I was hoping that everyone could help me with some pics. Looking for something in flat gloss if possible but Im open for suggestions.

 

Just got some procomp 7089's and love them. pretty cheap too. Just my opinion

 

15x7 or 15x8? and will the same tire fit both?

 

235/75/15 needs 6.0-7.0" rim width.

I'd recommend Konig SE10 15x6.5" instead. It weighs 16 lbs.

 

Ohhh. I like those. I'm guessing the 100 is the right lug size?

 

The SE10 comes with two sets of lug holes on the wheel center, 5x100 and 5x114.3 mm. You will need to use the 5x114.3 mm holes.

I don't think they offer anything with a positive offset.
Looks like zero offset is the shallowest... 15x8 0 offset will stick out 3" or so more than stock.

This is the only positve offset i found. Sorry for being a newb to this but what will this rim offer. I appreciate the info

 

If they stick out more then will that increase the chance of rubbing

 

I didn't see that one on PC's site, but that's should work.

Goes both ways. Too little backspacing and you'll rub the fenders. Too much backspacing and you'll rub the control arms... ProComps and 285's rubbed the frame on my Suburban.

 

At what point offset will the rims be close to origional wheel? Like above the rims Eduardo recommended has a +38mm, how far will they stick out past origional rims?

I don't know... I'd have to measure the stock steelies to see exactly what we're running for width and backspacing.

A "formula" to remember with alloys is to figure backspacing from offset, take the rim width and add one inch.
Divide that by two and that gives you the backspacing for a zero-offset.
From there, add or subtract depending on whether or not you have a positive or negative offset wheel.

And I was wrong... 6mm offset may not be enough. Looks like the 5-lug needs between 20 and 40mm positive offset, so for a 7" wheel = 7+1 = 8 / 2 = 4 +20-40mm = 4.79 to 5.57 backspacing.

 

Watch the hub diameter... Those are only 3.18" center bore, I don't know what the Taco requires but we have a large hub.

But the 4.25" backspacing won't be enough.

2WD / 5-LUG INFO: Basic Tacoma Wheel Info
2WD 5-lug Tacoma wheels have the following basic parameters:

Bolt pattern / bolt circle / PCD: 5 X 114.3 (mm) = 5 X 4.5"

Lug Nut Thread Format: M12 (12 mm) X 1.5

Centerbore:

1995.5 - 2004: 67.1 mm
2005 - ???? : 60.1 mm

 

3.18 centerbore is 80mm, so it's big enough in that respect, but what's missing from what you found is the stock width and backspacing or offset.

The nice thing about using offset for a reference is that as you go wider, 50% of the added width is outside and 50% is inside.
Using backspacing as a reference, as you go wider, all of the additional width is on the outside.

Discount tire shows 15X6 5-4.5 +41mm as the stock steel replacement, so the stock offset is 41mm
With a 6" rim, plus 1 is 7", divided by 2 is 3.5", plus 41mm = 5-1/8" backspacing.

So the stock wheels only stick out about 2" from the mounting surface. They are tucked a bit, you've got some room to play, but not a whole lot.
Moving up to a 15x8 maintaining the 41mm backspacing will stick out about 2-1/2"... easy fit. 9" wheel moves to 3", might start getting close with larger offroad tires, but you're going to want to keep the 235s on 7 or 8" wheels.
