Thule also has some partnership with dewalt, or dewalt owns thule or something, the guy at american ladders and scaffolds who sold me the racks said he could order the same exact racks with dewalt logo, weird. Wizzard005, the thule website says they are $630 but i thought i payed less than that. Make sure you get the clamps for the tacoma so you can fasten the racks to the factory bed rails. http://www.tacomaworld.com/gallery/showphoto.php/photo/251583/cat/500 if you want the racks to go low like azogSS has them i think you will have to cut them. But without cutting they can be adjusted to about 1 inch lower than the roof of your truck (this is the main reason i chose these over the trac racks.) and probably about 8 inches higher than the roof on the highest notch. another cool thing is most of the thule accesories will work with the racks like the bike rack mounts, ski/snowboars holders. And the things for kayaks, J-bars? I think they are rated for 500 lbs but ive had alot more on there.

You can always do a back rack headache rack on the front and a hitch mount rack on the back for your kayak.

Only complaints with the xsporter 422xt is you cant put them down all the way, and that they dont come in black. After i dechrome my truck thats ganna be the only shiny thing left haha, im tempted to black them out

Nice! Looks like you found the part for tacomas. You will be happy with it, and you dont hafta worry about rust which is probably bad up there.

Well, the kayak thing to makes it sit upright was a waste IMO. Why not just get long windsurfer pads that tie on and flip the kayak where the hull points up? Then you have something for boards and yak and not 99.00. Same straps hold boards or yak.....or fishing poles or lumber or ladder or pipes or whatever other long shit you may need to haul.

The Thule rack also comes with feet that you'll be able to adjust to cradle the sides of the hull and tie it down to them.

Do you have a part# for the screw from McMaster-Carr you were talking about? Just bought the TracRac G2 but haven't installed yet.
