I'm surprised to hear "Nomad" and "climbing" in the same sentence :) I have said I thought it climbed well too. Other friends (who own them) have said they suck climbing.

Glad to hear some one else likes how they climb :)

Anything will climb if you're built right. For example, put my fat ass on a carbon XC frame with full race kit, it will suck at climbing. Badly. Then it will throw me off and watch me die sucking wind. Stupid bike.

    :)

It comes down to 2 people: the ones who have the leg power, and those who don't lol.

My friend runs a triple chainring and I'm on his ass on 90% of our climbs with my 1x10 Nomad. :D

Niiice haha. I know you're probably getting emp discount on them, but you might wanna take a look at "The NV" by Küat. I'll be at Art's around 11 if you want a full demonstration on my Taco haha.

Remember you gotta buy locks for the racks & hitch pin on the Thule separately. The Küat already comes with an integrated cable lock, hitch pin lock(same key), AND a retractable bike stand(the deal maker for me). ;)

Just updated my Yeti 575 with new XTR wheels and XT drive train and shifters. Now all I need is some XT brakes and I'll be set!

Fun stuff...good climbing & surprisingly comfortable for no suspension and aluminum frame. It has it's place and nice to ride depending on the destination.

you could try some riding shorts that would probably help a bit

    Those would help a lot.

If you can take a change of clothes, that also helps.

riding shorts just seem like they would help on long rides and trails, etc. Im literally riding 15 minutes to the train station in the morning, and 15 minutes back after work, and I've done that twice, and my gooch is sore. I may try messing with the saddle height and angle. May even duct tape some foam or padding on the saddle lol.

haha the padding might work. you could definitely try messing with the angle you usually want it to be level but for a short ride maybe a tad front down to keep the pressure down
