2013 TRD Sport Upgrade Package Discontinued

The Xrunner has and will still have the skewp, so you can still get a hood with 1, you would just have to have it painted to match unless its barcelona red,nautical blue or blacksand pearl.

most here are confidant that the TRD Sport is not going away. the consensus is, the Sport "upgrade" is going away. My guess is: low numbers, and/or...to make room for a "Limited" option.

My assumption would be, the XRunner would go away before the Sport...due to low numbers. Although, I hope not...the XRunner is cool for those who want that kind of truck.

 

btw...the pics of your XRunner in your gallery are cool. I really dig the one at night with the lighting undercarriage.

I doubt the Limited will have the skewp.

The skewp is cool for cool guys.

The Limited will be blinged out...for soccer moms, and gay men.

 

There goes my hopes and dreams for a 2014 or 15 to replace my 06.... I always wanted a white TRD sport.

Toyota has not made any announcement that they will discontinue the TRD Sport Tacoma in the near future.

Why would they? It's one of their best sellers and most optioned (highest MSRP) trucks in a lineup of midsized trucks that rule the market.

Think about it. "We have a product that crushes the competition, and we will discontinue one of the models with the highest margins"

Not gonna happen.

More like: "We have a product that crushes the competition, and we will add another moder (Limited) with even higher margins"

 

you know the limited 4runners and stuff come all color matched. maybe their just changing the name from sport to limited?

but Toyota would be wiser to introduce the Limited as another model, with the chrome wheels, leather interior and bling, and maybe pearl paint.

while keeping the TRD Sport.

I believe the Sport "upgrade" was a move in that direction...maybe a market feeler.

 

I know some 2012 owners might get upset, but what was toyota thinking with the ugly pimp daddy 18" chrome rims?

I hope its not a sign of the direction toyota is headed in...

 

My 2012 Sport has the 17" alloy wheels that have been around for years...

I would not have bought the truck if it had chrome wheels.

 

The 18's only come on the Sport Upgrade package , not the Sport package

 

yeah, us regular sport guys are stuck with the old style 17" 4runner rims... i want some trail teams to go with my SKEWP!

 

I've got a Trail Team...still 17"

 

considering I had the 16" steelies w/duncraps on my 2010 SR5...

the 17" Sport alloys w/ Bridgestones are a major upgrade. I'm a happy camper.

 

Swaa ? The Trail Team Pro truck I saw at my dealer was on 16's .
