Ok cool. Not that it matters much, just curious. I have a lead foot on trips, 10mph faster on a 10 hour road trip means getting there a lot sooner. I'm usually averaging 75-80mph on the trip up there.

Picked up the yaks this morning. Got them both at Academy sports.

We ended up getting her a Pelican sit-in instead. She liked the blue color better than the orange SOT... girls... oh well, can't complain, it was $50 cheaper.

Mine is a 12' perception pescador.

going on a canoe/kayak trip next weekend down the cumberland river. should be a good time. leaving early friday and coming back sunday. There are supposed to be some badass rapids there so I am planning on putting the gopro on the kayak and hopefully not sink my kayak. Gotta get a skirt for it.... and practice my rollovers!

It's the exact same hull casting as the '08 model Tarpon. Confluence wanted to get into a lower price point so they took older Tarpon casting and started selling them as the Perception Pescador

On Sunday morning, we took the new yaks on their maiden voyage. We went on a 5 hour (15 river mile) paddling trip down the Upper Etowah river near our house. It was a nice day and a nice slow paddle. A few really small rapids along the way. The only downside of the day was that my girlfriend got a really bad migraine (she's a chronic sufferer) about 2.5 hours into the trip and got sick. I ended up having to tie her kayak to mine and paddle the remaining 2.5 hours for two. I also had to portage the yaks back to the truck and load them by myself. Next time we'll make sure she brings her migraine pills.

    Here are some pics:

I would get a sit on top angler model. You are looking from anywhere between 500-900 depending on what model you get. The angler models will have your fishing rod holders and various compartments and things for your fishing gear.

Just picked ours up yesterday. They're sitting in the garage. We have to get the mounting system on the wall yet...... They fit in the back of the truck nicely!! Steve ordered a pair of racks for the top of his MDX used on ebay.

Wouldn't it figure...... My employer is getting busy....I'm on 12 hour shifts this week and probably working all weekend. We're supposed to work every other weekend but I haven't been scheduled in months. So - now that the kayaks show up, I'll be lucky to have time to enjoy them by the end of the summer!!!

    ARGH!!!!!

Brad, sounds like a good time despite your lady getting a migraine. I have gotten them a few times and they suck BIG TIME! I can't imagine getting one of those bastards while on the river. Just a helpful tip, I keep a medical bag (small waterproof one) in my dry storage inside my dry bag and have excedrin migraine and some other various meds in there in case something like that should happen. You buy one of the smaller medical kits at your local outfitter usually and just throw some pills in a zip lock and toss them in the bag.

That sucks! Make sure you don't have them sitting on the bottoms. Always flip them over so they don't flat spot. Not sure if you knew that one yet.

    Hi All,

Just found this thread and wanted to chime in. Hauling my Hurricane Phoenix boats (120 and 130) on a TracRac G2.

Unlike XXXX's experience, the G2 is a perfect fit for the Taco, with the exception of the same stupid-ass too long clamp bolts which I replaced with 1.25"x3/8" stainless ones. TracRac/Thule actually offered to reimburse me for the new bolts when I complained.

Just stopped at a canvas shop today to have some custom pads made to fit the fat TracRac crossmembers. They are going to do them in a brown canvas to compliment the Pyrite Mica of my truck. I'll add photos when they are done.

I keep one in the truck, I should probably also get one for the yak too. Haha we'll have to throw in some of her good pills. She says excedrin doesn't do shit for hers. She has 3 different types of pills she takes: 1 pill that she can take if she feels it coming on, another type if it's bad that basically makes her high/drunk and loopy, and the super serious pill that if she takes it, it'll knock her out for a good 6-7 hours. She's been suffering from them since she was about 13 years old (28 now).

    Off topic: I love Excedrin!!

Did you know that you can't buy it anymore?
Something about a recall and they probably won't be available for a year!!
I was so pissed when I found out!! The generic stuff doesn't work as good (yeah, imagine that?)

Thanks! The place we bought them from explained all that. I can't remember who makes it, but it's a J rack mounted to the garage wall and the 2nd kayak is held up (suspended) by straps below the j rack. I have Picts but can't upload them until I get home.

My Tracrac fit fine. I just have no need for it to be so tall and wide so I cut it down so I wouldn't of ripped it off on a tree while I'm wheeling.

All of my bars are already scratched to hell from trees. The top powder-coating is just about gone from rubbing on branches.

damn! those are serious! Excedrin usually does the job for me. I can't even imagine how shitty hers are if Excedrin doesn't do the trick. :boom:
had no idea they took it off the shelves! that sucks! I do agree that the generic doesn't do as good of a job.
