Changing A/C clutch pulley bearing???

So my AC compressor clutch pulley bearing is definelty bad. Does anyone know the details behind its removal.

 

are you talking about the actual ac unit or the idler bearing at the very bottom of the motor?

 

Pulley on the unit. I checked the AC idler and its good. No play or noise

the instruction should come with the new clutch assy. but if not ten mm socket and snap ring pliers. should come right off. if not dont bang it to much youll f up your compressor. get a puller from autozone or what ever they rent them.

 

item 14 is not listed in the parts list? isn't that all i need really? Thanks for the instructions though. I might pull the bearing and see if i can find the same profile bearing from all-balls or something.

 

Yes but they only sale it as an assy. If your going the bearing rout then two sockets and all threadwashers and nuts. On socket fits the outer edge.on the other socket will let the bearing fall into it

Hey OP I'd your still around did you replace them? If so do you know the number on the bearings? Where did you get them?

No need for the bad attitude - if your post had anything like "for future reference" then it would have been easier to see you weren't actually accidentally resurrecting a zombie thread. It's recommended to start your own thread rather than resurrect an old one. You could have put something similar to "Replacing AC A/C Pulley Solved" or the like so that when someone searches they know to look at your thread first. Then you can put all the pertinent information in one spot for them to find. There's also the DIY repair / mod thread if you really think you've got something helpful to share - I know this won't necessarily come up on a specific internet search, but once someone's a member they might learn something while searching through it since it's a sticky in the first gen section.
