    I had to sign in for my first post just because this plate looks hot. Because it is steel, I am thinking that there is a chance it will rust easily. What other type of material can this be constructed out of? Diamond plate aluminum or stainless steel would be cool...although there might be some structural integrity issues.     The powder coating will help with that. Skids get beat up, that's what they are for. If you paint or primer over scratches, you shouldn't have any issues.

    It would defiantly make it stiffer. As they are, there pretty structurally sound. If your hitting rocks hard enough to bend the snot out of the plate you might have bigger problems. That being said anything can be done, just don't expect it to be free :p
