Just wanted to give a shout out to Austin-

Thanks for taking the extra time to show us the basics and get us started. Blue Core is a really nice place to shoot and you can expect us back. Hopefully soon to make a purchase. Wife was a bit overwhelmed tonight with so many people and her being completely new to guns as well. So that is why we cut the session a bit short. I don't want to push her too hard. But as we talked on the way home she really liked the way the SIG shot. So we will be back soon to shoot some more. I want to try the 1911, a glock, and maybe a couple of other bigger Springfields. But definitely liking it and the wife is looking forward to going back. I owe you a few beers sometime. :D

Hey eric, So I should get a cheap oversized kit? I had a kit for my car but figured the sticky plugs needed to be bigger. Although its only meant for nail, screw holes right so is it really a different kit for trucks? I'm all for the cheaper kit!!!! $40 for the ARB one is a bit high

Wouldnt I need to replace the spare wheel with a 17 and tire with a 265/70/17? To make them all the same?

Thanks for all your help man!!!

Medano pass, I was heading into the sand dunes to go camping so I just went this back way and it was sweet. Not difficult what so ever but just real nice.

Yeah if you have the plug tools already you can just pick up the large plugs at an auto store. The ones I got were for SUV / Truck tires. But so the only thing I have done is slice a side wall on my Duratrac and the hole was too big to plug. So you really need a spare too.

What size wheel came with your truck when you got it? Did it have sport rims? If so then your spare rim will be a 17" already and you just need a tire. If not then yeah it would be best to get rim and tire. You could go to Performance Wheel and tire on Santa Fe and Oxford. They sell used rims and tires(sold the wifes 4 runner wheels to them).
This is pretty much the kit I bought at O'Reilly's and then I bought an extra pack of plugs too. Good price here.

Can't go wrong with either. 1911 is more expensive, and Springfield is built pretty much identical to Glock. I love my Glock and KAHR. I know Dev is a Springfield fan

As Austin told us last night he figured the wife would like the heavier almost all metal guns vs. the lighter plastic guns since the metal guns absorb the recoil easier. That isn't to say she couldn't get beyond that with more time behind the trigger. She did like the Springfield double safety though for her piece of mind. So we will see. We are going to go back and try some more here soon. I will add Kahr to the list as well to try. Just looked them up online.

Sorry we were so slammed last night with ladies night and all I would have liked to hang out a little more. Like I said it's no big deal though. But, if we ever get together outside it would be a lot less stressful for anyone that is new to shooting. Indoors is nice with the AC as well as the location but you can't beat shooting outside on a nice day.

    Cool, thanks so much eric

I have the plug tools already but they were total crap and very hard on the hands to use on a car tire, ill probably get a new kit. And i have a 20% off coupon to harbor freight right now, one of my favorite stores around.

I have a TRD Offroad so id need to get a new spare and bump it up to 17" with 265/70/17. Ill have to start saving for the spare though, thanks for the information ill totally hit up Performance wheel and tire.
