So, all this talk has me asking if the stock exhaust on an 07 4.0 is stainless or standard steel? Is so, I am digging the wicked flow sound, just curious if I can use some of the existing tubing and weld in the wf 18" muffler?

I'm not sure about the 4.0 but your stock exhaust is most definitely stainless steel. You don't need to remove your entire exhaust system in order to change the muffler. You will have no problems just swapping the muffler.

K&N CAI, Magnaflow muffler, Xenon (non-HID) high/low, Reese aftermarket reciever/plug n play 4 pin, "Taco" badge, 4x4 mud flaps and no further markings Bilstein 5100's at all 4 corners - struts set at 2 inches taller, rear stock height. Magnaflow Exhaust, K&N intake, Husky box carpeted w/LED lights - secured by pros, mounts for AR15.
Day three w/ my Magnaflow - love it. it is loud though, but gives the mellow sound I wanted under light load, over 3k she sounds wicked. Nobody tries to race me anymore ha. Did add some power.

Well chosen my friend. I run 2.25 from the down pipe back with high flow cat, magnaflow 13 or 14", and it exits the bed so I dont get the highway hum. Its loud when you want it to be but quiet in fifth at highway speeds. I have always ran magnaflow on my trucks.

Well my 2 cents, my truck is my little beater my toy in changing stuff on it weakly, my exhaust started with a cherry bomb, it was ricey but I liked it, then my cousin I had a drunkin idea to put smoke stack on my truck we did it, cut the exhaust just under the cab, put in flex pipe to a 2 1/2 inch stack with a flapper on it, then I put the cherry bomb back in and ran it to a chrome 3 inch tip under the rear bumper, and as of now I cut the cherry bomb out and am running strait pipe from the cats back... It's loud and in no way ricey, it turns head at every light it screams! I also love being loud and annoying, because every one in my town is about 90 years old or dying, I have a 100watt PA system, air horns ect ect. All with one point in being loud check it out on YouTube I got a few videos just search AmyTacoGuy on there

i can tell you first hand if your truck is stock ie all cats in place and factory exhaust manifold go with the aero turbine 2525 non resonated it sounds like a power boat.

if you have headers and all that other jazz get the resonated version as i will eliminate any rasp but, sound the same. i'm a firm believer in these at mufflers and that they are high quality and will sound awesome.

my truck sounds so nasty i can't believe its just a muffler :)

That is correct but the aftermarket supplies headers with different length runners or even equal length such as the old LC Engineering ones.

Gains were minimal per cost, he just said manifold and you cant quite call this a manifold in that it is tubular and not cast.

With the engines of today, especially ones designed by foreign manufatures, performance gains from bolt ons are hard to come by. Any significant gains that the normal consumer can afford have to do with the engine's computer.

Most everybody who buys a "header" for their Tacoma knows that performance gains will be minimal and are looking more for a gain in sound.

That's why I did just a highflow kitty and muffler with stock tube dimensions.
