    A small handful of select mods.
    I hear kind of scrape noise as well. Did you recently have the drums in mudd or dirty water where they might have gotten some dirt in them? Or maybe did you bend the front rotor brake dust shields to where they are touching something on the wheel?

    yea my truck has weird noises.....
    but thats the least of my problems....
    im leaning toward the d.s.
    i have been having some take off vibes recently.....
    but i just installed some axle shims and a u bolt flip kit at about the same time....so i thought it was the axle shims making the vibe worse......
    now im putting 2 x 2 togther and almost getting 4......
    i will find out later when i can pull the shaft.....
    and check the diff

    Is it the "chirping" you are talking about. I heard that in my old blazer right before the U-joint went to pieces!

    Just to make the story longer, the joint came apart at the t-case. The shaft dropped into the crossmember and got trapped there. Because it couldn't spin any more, and the fact that the front axle was locked, no more tire roll. I had to push the truck the next 40 yards or so to the end of the mud pit, then lay in the mud to get the shaft off the front axle. DONE

    Sounded like a u-joint to me.:notsure:

    BTW, my carrier bearing has always had a lot of play in it. I get a shudder out of it on hard takeoffs only. I'm gonna rebuild my rear shaft before winter.
