So here is the deal. i'm looking to purchase a new tacoma within the next 4-5 months but i cant decide which model i wan to buy between your run of the mill dcsb trd off road or the baja. i've never had a lifted/aftermarket suspension truck always ran with stock options as i can only do minor troubleshooting on a vehicle. as i've noticed here alot of people here bash on baja because you can get an equivalent/better suspension for a cheaper price. i'm all for getting a better suspension for the same price however i thought i read somewhere that the icon kits require a lot of maintenance over time to keep it properly tuned(maybe i'm way off base with this one). so here is my dilemma i definitely want an upgraded suspension from stock(even if it is still a stock baja susp) but with the baja i know it would be maintenance free and i could get the extra package financed. if i dont go this route i was looking at getting a trd offroad with an icon stage 3 or 4 kit, as i said i've never really messed with the suspension on a truck before so i dont understand a lot excepte obviously that with a better suspension you can cover a more divers terrain with greater ease. if i went that route i would probably have to pay someone to install it for me as i will be at a new base and wont have my truck savvy friends there and also what if any other modifications would need to be made. i know that all of this is jumbled and incoherent since i am forgetting most of what i'm typing as i type(been working 22 hrs running solely on redbull now) it but if you can somehow decipher the message and questions i'm trying to get across please all feedback is welcomed + or -

The baja is hard to find I had to get mine shipped from the other side of the state. You can never go wrong with the trd off road package, then upgrade the suspension for around the same cost.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
You want the BAJA. It's done for you with a warranty.

X2 unless you are offroading a lot, you don't need anything other than stock

Dealer won't cover anything they don't manufacture and sell for the truck.

You want dealer warranty find you a Baja. You want to learn about your truck and be able to handle whatever you want go custom and accept it like the rest of us if something breaks. I put my OME lift on at 3 months. Could it void something? Sure, but they have to prove that broke it. :D I don't like other people working on my truck. Unless I absolutely cannot do it, I work on it myself. Yes I do have the 100,000 mile warranty.

BTW what made you decide to go Icon?
