    Yeah thats true. I was thinking of buying a s/c but then I had to drop 800 in my front end which sucks. Im just curious in what you guys think because im not sure if people supercharge a motor with that high of mileage... Im guessing my motor has good compression because i can roast my 33s with ease (not sure how much my headers help out though)

    You need to test all six cylinders.. don't guess.

    Opinion wise though.. I probably wouldn't drop that kind of cash into such an old truck... like you said you just had a ton of front end work and you'll end up finding more and more little stuff falling apart over time. Unless its' a pure toy you wanna mess around with and can afford the play cash... I'd pass.

    Well the truck is in pretty good shape besides the ifs and the e-brake, and i recently had a new clutch installed.. Im trying to have everything fixed up on her before i start UTI classes in late october. At least thats my goal

    how do the factory bumps come off? do you just take a big wrench and rotate it off?

    ok but they just screw right off. thanks thats what i was curious about


    i need a bed bar made for myself. who would like to make one and how much? I would need to send you measurements because my bed width is a little less due to rear glass.

    its just slightly too long so if i cut and reweld my bet is it will be shorter than i want. i want it to fit perfectly

    whatre pros and cons to s/c vs turbo?

    i would love some more power, 65-100hp. would be ideal. i have a spare 5vz-fe, and plan to build up internals to begin with.

    supercharger will benefit more for wheeling as the power is instant. downside is superchargers rob power to make power.

    turbo is great for high RPM applications where spool time makes no difference because your constantly in boost RPM's

    hrm. but concerning spool time couldnt i get a smaller turbo, but possibly run more boost?

    i mean im lookn for around 300 hp. but at the same time, thats with a tuned and rebuilt 6cyl engine, crank/rods/pistons/everything will be touched. so id imagine after cai and exhaust, and headers it wouldnt take much more boost to achieve my goal, right?

    id like to avoid sc as im not ready for that gas bill.

    If you stay off the gas your bill will be the same, that goes for any fi.

    Too small of a turbo will limit driveability at higher rpm because it won't flow enough air. Either way though yes a smaller one will produce power quicker but it still won't produce power quicker than a supercharger.

    Do you know how to read a compressor map? Do a google search of forced induction and difference between the 2. Seems to me from you wanting instant power a supercharger will work better than a turbo.

    For a daily driven offloading weekend warrior truck, supercharger hands down has my vote. Although 700hp duramax diesel....well when that turbo spools up. Holy sheet!

    from what it sounds like yeah very possibly. im still on the way though for the sake of reliability as my goal is to do a long expedition, and i could just imagine the s/c being the weak point, but then again any boost would be bad.

    im unsure of what it is actually at. i hate the stink bug look, but will fix that with a sas. thankyou sir :D

    its been an uphill battle, ive done ALOT of work to it thus far.

    leaning towards 60. currently on expo and dreaming of a tundra, more space!
