Did the BHLM today.

Well, I blacked out the headlights today and it went pretty smoothly until the wife decided to help. I already had one headlight blacked out and had just disassembled the second when she asked in the cute way she does. "What can I do?" So, I let her paint it. I explained HOW to do it but alas, what I ended up with was paint runs and uneven coating. So, I discretely touched it up as best I could without starting the water works. I did notice that once re-assembled it has a couple tiny spots where the chrome came off against the glue. Oh, well. It does look kick ass though. I hope I never have to do it again. I did re-install that little screw that is a pain in the ass to mess with. I figured it is better to have in there, then to not have it. The DIY info was very helpful. The tail lights come next.

You can see the goof up on this one in the corners, when I was sticking it all back together the glue caught it a little. The wife didn't coat it well enough either. (but it is my fault, I let her do it.)

 

It looks great. How long did you let the paint dry before you put back together?

It dried for about 8 hours. Give or take a few minutes.

 

I had my BHLM come out similar to yours. I waited about a month and corrected my mistake, came out great.

Those look good, I am to chicken to do it.

 

I think if I put some eyebrows on it, it would be less noticeable. Don't be afraid to do it. It really isn't that hard, just time consuming.
