He does some really cheap sliders for sure, but I don't think he does stuff like this:

I am certainly more enlightened than I was when I started this thread, so mission accomplished.

Shoot me a PM with what you're looking for and I'll get something worked up. We have someone heading down to Tucson at least once a month usually so I'm sure we could help you out!

Thanks - I called your shop yesterday. For now I'm primarily looking for sliders and skidplates and will likely go the mass-production route. They seem to be aesthetically pleasing, good quality and reasonably priced and therefore I do not see the need to get them custom fabbed.

The good news is that I now know about your shop - before I started this thread I did not.

    Thanks for all the replies.

Yes that is very pretty and takes a lot of talent, but thats not off road fab. He looks awesome at what he does and if I wanted a street show truck I would take a look into this guy, but for off road fab I would say SDHQ wins

Although I do agree with you to an extent. I know my friends work. He builds complete chasis for all kinds of vehicles. The range of stuff that he has built would blow you away. I think he knows a thing or two about building things strong, and that last. Hes good at what he does and I have no doubt in my mind that he could build ANYTHING that SDHQ could. He has been doing it a very long time. So, before you pass a judgment like "SDHQ Wins" you might want to research more of what Autokore is capable of.

As I stated in my PM to you, knowing how to build or fabricate is only half the story. In the off road world knowing what works and will hold up to the rigors of off road use and abuse is what really comes into play. With 13 years in business and hundreds of years of experience in this industry between our sales staff, expert fabricators and techs you will be hard pressed to find a shop that will build you a better off road rig.

Nothing against your friends shop because it looks like he does great custom work but building a bagged low rider is a completely different dimension from properly setting up off road suspension systems.

I understand you wouldn't be doing your part if you didn't promote your company. And I am sure there are plenty of peeps that would love to drop their truck off at your shop if money was no object.

But some times you just need someone that will do an awesome job with out charging the premium prices. Its known that you guys are on the high end when it comes to quotes. Not that you don't do fantastic work. But sometimes people just don't have that kind of money but still what quality work.

Some will argue what you get what you pay for. And I agree, but some times you can get a really good job done for a lot less, and tha'ts more than enough for some people and/or their requirements.

The OP was about metal FAB. Not about complete custom off-road madness. Yea, my friends shop does not specialize is that sort of thing, but if you want some basic fab done for a good price - hes hard to beat.

Its all good, SDHQ is just defending his business. And right fully so. And I was just mentioning a good friend who does good work.

Its obvious if you have tons of cash and want an obsine off-road monster, go to SDHQ. If you want some basic fab or tube work done for a great price give my buddy a shout.

    That's all...
