2012 Pricing - What did you pay?

Everyone would go to Oregon. ZERO sales tax.

 

I am currently looking at a Pre owned 2012 tacoma:

Certified 2012 Tacoma Double Cab 4x4 Short Bed TRD Sport
4.0 V6 5sp Auto
2,500 miles
Magnetic Gray
Entune Navi

List price : $34,000

What would be a fair price? This car NEW is 31,500 at invoice. I'm thinking $28,000? That would be around $31,000 OTD (washington taxes). Should I go lower? I haven't started negotiations yet, just emailing back and forth..

 

New v6 double cab 4x4 sb sport with tow pkg MGM with a 6" lift parts and install plus 7 year warenty.

otd with tax title license? i get confuse kuz ppl interpret it differently

Is my offer of maximum 33k too high still?? im shooting for 32k.. lower better...and my interpretation of OTD is the complete thing (included TTL)

 

my other question is now that i have their initial quote...how should i word my offer?

should i say this:
"Thank you for the quote. The quote you have provided is quite higher than the others I have requested for, considering I've been quoted for a lower amount. Can you please provide an actual 'dealer's invoice'? I would like to see the invoice that was charged to the dealer

Personally I think you are out of line asking that question. It is really none of your business what the dealer paid for the truck. Your only concern should be what he is willing to sell it to you for. You have the right to refuse any offer he gives you. He has the right to keep his information confindential.

Besides, a printed invoice means absolutely nothing. They can be changed and reprinted at will.

I paid $27,500 for a BRAND NEW and Special Ordered (base-convenience package) tacoma 4x4 double cab short bed 6 speed manual with the TRD exhaust, TRD air filter and mats, sill protectors and a couple other small things lol and ive enjoyed modding it put about another $3,500 in it or so lol

Just make an offer you are comfortable with. And don't worry about paying more than what some of the posters here claimed they paid. I would bet my ass that at least a few here and lieing through their teeth, if they even bought a truck at all.

 

after a few email and what not and my offer being 32.5k.... they offered $33719.83

I'm going to reply later saying that with that price, they should throw in a bunch of accessories and extended warranty

 

Call them up and talk to a real person and tell them your offer is final and thats it. Tell them you are prepared to write a check or give them your credit card for a $500 deposit immediately if they accept the 32.5 then stick firm. But the most important thing is for them to realize you will actually buy the truck if they accept your offer, otherwise they will feel you are wasting their time.

"OTD Pricing" aka a good deal ... means very little unless their is a breakdown ... i.e. ... vehicle price, trade in value, other fees and taxes = some pay taxes of 4% and some pay 9.75% in sales tax and some pay a VAT I think.

yup, $27.5 the final price I paid with was everything included, after everything, including taxes and everything, my sales guy knew i that i knew my shit going in there so he wasn't gonna try and screw me, and he knew that i previously worked there as a tech. and he was a really cool guy, during parts of the sale process i was even doing HIS job behind the desk lol oh and my truck as the tow package as well lol

You are probably right on trading ... but CarMax has been paying a lot for Tacomas in my area ... use it as a tool to negotiate with dealer ...
