My parents never let me have anything with a motor or engine in it, and I always kinda hated them for it... I had to pedal, push, or skate all my wheeled toys.

Now that I've got a daughter, I get it. Anything that wears them out is a GOOD thing. You know what I'm talkin' bout.

Hah, he's gonna be a big ol' boy. What's he up to these days? We had our nine month a couple weeks ago and my daughter is 29" and 19 lbs 12 oz.

Which also means it's time for a new car seat... <grumblegrumble> Friggin things ain't cheap.

And +1 on the Jumparoo / johnny jump up / whatever it's called. She loved that thing, and it wore her OUT. Now she gets frustrated that she can't crawl any where and gets really fussy after a couple of minutes in it.

Shoot, when I was a kid we didn't even HAVE things with motors or engines in it. It was a BigWheel or a bike! Those were the choices!

I actually have a jeep now. Imagine that.
My family was too poor to afford any of that power shit. They bought me a trek mountain bike when I was 8. I still have it today. They made the right choice, buy a bit nicer bike in the beginning and they will make it to 16 no problem. I'll admit, I was jealous of all the kids with the motorized scooters, however, they were all about 20lbs heavier than me and I was a good foot taller than them (I hit 6' at 12 years old. haven't grown since though....).

so....mods, meets, off roading, bitching about youth thread lol.

btw, yall are getting way too antsy. If we are wheeling two days straight push back the meeting time by an hour. We aren't going to want to do the beginner trails. If you want to thats fine, but i'm gonna go do the advanced trails where either good tires or 4wd is necessary. (we all have good tires and/or 4wd). Trust me, 4wd is a stretch as a requirement on most of the advanced trails.

Just because mine will be on a trailer doesn't make it a trailer queen!!! Plus if I am driving the truck this time, which I most likely will be, it will be 20 minutes. I don't baby that truck. Hell it has taken everything that I have thrown at it now, and then some.

Mine is 9 months and he doesn't like his jumparoo. All he wants to do now is crawl and pull himself up and stand.
I was wanting to hit ALL the trails, minus the beginner ones. Even if we hit them all the first day, we can go back and hit the ones we liked the most the next day, or just shoot the shit until we get bored and go ride some more. I know that's what I will do if we hit them all on one day.

I wasn't planning on hitting the trails until AFTER I get everything set up for the night. Tent, cooler, truck off the trailer. That kind of stuff, then wait on everyone else and go ride.

Oh Alex, we need to do this to your truck and watch the video in post 33. I just like the look of it. Oh when you watch the video, look at the ext. cab with the ARB and tell me what you think about the antenna mount on it.....

I also plan on setting up tent and camp before we hit the trails. I figure even if we do hit all of the trails, maybe we can do some of them backwards the next day!!

No, they aren't cheap. Our 5 yr old needs a new one and it ridiculous how much they are. Oh well, its the price we pay for the safety of our kids :D.

 Two words. Basketball. Scholarship. :)

Yeah, man. It's such a racket. Then there's the whole NHTSA recommended backwards, forwards, sideways, upside down, whichever, and that seems to be DIFFERENT from how the seats are manufactured. Like the one we're looking at has all these safety features so that if it's facing forwards it dissipates the energy from a collision correctly, but then the NHTSA and pediatricians recommend that they face backwards as long as possible. Something like 40 lbs or something before they face forwards.

The reason most of the regulations for having the child face backwards up until a certain weight is because in an accident (except rear enders) the force of the accident will push the child deeper into the seat. If your child was facing forward, it would tend to cause the childs head to stretch forward, or forward and to the side, risking a neck injury.

Now lets get back on topic!!!! lol.

So we will bee meeting at the McDs at 7, departing there between 7:30-7:45 and meeting up at Exit 299 around 8:15-8:30, right?

thats fine with me. I'll probably be running late since kyle will be with me. He takes forever to do his makeup. Park doesn't open until 9 anyways though. If I'm going to be running too late (like 30 minutes or more) I'll give you guys a call and just meet you at the park.

damn, the park in auburn has been busy!

Sounds good to me too bill. Even if it doesn't open til 9, that gives us some time to decide what we are going to do while waiting at the petrol right there.
