I think he got a pretty good deal, honestly. I mean come on, It sounds like he got the same truck as I did but with full size doors instead of half doors AND he got the entune. Granted I got the parking sensors, tow package and the alarm - but still he only paid $9,900 more than I did!! I mean, it's a pretty nice truck and worth the almost 10k difference in price, amirite?

In Jan 2007, I bought my 2007 TRD Offroad Access Cab with tow package for $25,500 before taxes and other crap that was added on. Sticker was around $28k.

Come on man......the Toyota dealer is not going to sell a brand new truck for 8-10k off the price. Its impossible! I'd love to see your paperwork, otherwise you're full of it.

And liars will lie. There is no way a dealer will lose $7,000 on any vehicle let alone a brand new Tacoma. Now if you're talking about a Silverado that's a different story.

if you're gonna make up a story, at least make it somewhat believable.

I could jack the prices up on all the vehicles on lot and make people feel better when I say "For you I'll take $5k off :D" Not hating or anything I just know how shiesty these dealers can be. I always make them give me the technical service manuals their service techs use :D Those things are like $500 atleast!!

Was it a demo or a leftover?

    X- A lot!!

Everyone negotiates differently, most have a trade, some finance, some pay cash, some have a salesman willing to take less commission, some get sucked into aftermarket warranty and "protection packages". OP: If you did your homework and you are happy with your deal, then it's a good deal. 'Nuff said.

I got what I felt was a killer trade, and a nice chunk off the sticker. I'm happy.

I think you did good. I know a fool that paid close to 40k in 2006 for a new DC with nothing on it.

Welcome to TW where you get a new Ass ripped whether you like it or not.

Poor guy. I just signed on Monday, have yet to even get a solid date on when I'll receive my truck bc it hasn't left SE Toyota yet.

I wanted to post a similar thread asking how I did, but in the end, not sure I really want to know if I could've done better. I was happy when I left and felt like I didn't get ripped off. From my extensive research, I doubt I could've gotten much lower.

OP is an idiot, No dealer will sell you a car at a loss unless they make it up in trade in or financing. If they did they wouldn't be in business long.

I sell this truck or see it sold at least 4-5 a month and 33.7 OTD is not bad after tax an fees.

When value exceeds price, commerce happens

People pay profit every day on everything in the marketplace. Good service and product knowledge goes a long way

    Fine, I'll bite. Orlando, Florida.

12 MGM 4.0L 2x4 Access Prerunner TRD Sport with ONLY towing package, daytime running lights and the upgraded stereo. No toyoguard or mats or anything else.

$28k exactly out the door. Before dealer fee and tax/tag/title, my price was $25,754, about $800 below my researched invoice of 26,551. (their claimed invoice was $1000 more)

I believe the dealer fee is basically just another profit maker for them so I made them up my trade-in another $500 from their initial offer.

What do you guys think? (you're all wrong this is a GREAT FREAKIN DEAL!!!!)

    Not a bad deal!

    Here's a tip:

When you go over the contract BEFORE you sign it...cross out the "dealer fee" line and anything else you don't want to pay and then draw a little line for the rep to sign. Usually he will say "Sir, you can't do that" and always respond with "Alright well have a good day" and walk out. I've never made it halfway to my truck.

Just a little advice my dad told me when I went to buy my truck
