After doing BHLM i noticed some fogging!!!

What do I do to fix this? I saw a bit of fogging last night in the headlight??

 

I"m not familiar with how the BHLM is done but I'm thinking some silicon would do the trick on sealing it properly.

 

I ran a bead of silicon around both of mine and still got some fogging in the passenger side

 

Take it apart again and let it air dry then try again????

I had the same thing happen to my passanger side one. I finally got around to taking them both back off completely open them both up again and clean all the old adhesive off and used some liquid nails silicon to reseal the whole thing and it seems to be fine now. Just waiting on some rain to see how it all works.

 

I don't want my headlights to start fogging, which is the biggest reason why I'm very hesitant to do the BHLM. Good luck trying to get it fixed.

yep....the overall affect is not worth the hassle of dealing with a possible foggy headlight. Personally, it's not all that good looking of a mod. I'm not one to take a rattle can anywhere near my truck. It won't be long before that rattle can paint looks like crap from the sun.

 

I did this with my Mazda3 and don't care to do it again. Sure it looks cool but it's not worth it to me.

 

I agree. That was the reason why I delayed doing this MOD. But one day I decided to do it. Once one headlight is off the 2nd headlight was easy. I am happy w/ my results. Maybe some one in your area will give you a hand doing this MOD.

 

Even un-moded headlights will fog eventually. We had 2 vehicles in the past that had moisture in the headlights. I fixed the problem in 5 seconds with a 1/64" drill bit.

I drilled 2 holes in the top of the lens, and 2 holes in the bottom of the lens. This will provide the ventalation needed to keep them from EVER fogging again, but the holes are small enough that rain water getting in really isn't an issue.

I know, you're probably shaking your head right now saying "I can't believe he actually did that". Well I did, and it works.

Also, it did not have an adverse effect on the lifespan of the lamps.

 

Nissan makes headlight sealant, It is FAR better than using silicone.
