New "skid plate" on 2012's

Well, apparently the TRD Sport will be eliminated in 2013. So Someone wanting a Sport would need to get a 2012

 

I guess i'll be sticking with my truck for awhile, as opposed to upgrading to a mexican catfish.

 

Did you notice the red part you highlighted ends in a period (making it a statement)? Did you notice the part that ends in a question mark asks if the bumper valence is metal? Did you notice I noted it was plastic?

What are the quotes coming back from guys who need front bumper repair/replacement? In the mid-hundreds aren't they?

 

idk what all the hate is about the xsp-x is a pretty bad ass looking truck, and i wish i could have that metal piece in the front bumper to go along with my skid plate too, but i dout it will be an accessory.. but i really do want it lol

 

not sure if this was directed at me, but since I just traded a 2010 for a 2012...I'll field it...

1st and easy...why not?

2nd, personally...I went from an SR5 to a TRD Sport, many more features and options. A new front end styling...that I happen to like (I also like the last gen2 front)

and thirdly (although Im sure there's more)...Because I can.

I understand grammar just fine! I can read something and understand that maybe he meant to add a "?" as opposed to a period and not take it for face value. Thought this was a forum for Tacoma owners as opposed to grammar school?

If he's too lazy to use the language we've all agreed upon, he gets what he deserves. If you're willing to go the extra mile, good, you bail him out. Saves me the trouble.

None of this really changes the fact that the front bumper on the XSP-X is plastic, and that 2012s have ugly front ends.

Nope, thats why I phrased it as "apparently". It's just a rumor. Its hard to belive that they would phase out the sport; seems to popular to eliminate

 

This thread has gone all over the place, but I went to the dealer today and they had one.

1) It is a different seperate piece that is bolted to the original bumper.
2) It is plastic.

Thats what I was thinking - one good snowbank and you'd peel that right off.

 

It's the Super-Bro package. They know there is a market for people who want to throw their money away on fake exposed bolts and randomly placed LED's... no wonder they made it.
