Backup sensors

Has anyone installed backup sensors on their truck? I was thinking of adding something like this.

I saw a thread on another Tacoma site where the guy put the control unit behind the left rear turn signal assembly.

For less than 100.00 you can get a VR3 wireless back-up camera.

 

There's a wireless back-up cam they sell at Costco and PepBoys for about $80.

 

Yeah, that wireless is reaaaaaly tempting as a XMas present for the wife.

 

phantom, lol! She's getting something on our anniversary next month.... that thing will have plenty of shine for the whole next year!

 

I got my wife a stripper pole, is that selfish of me ? I can never tell.

Well, I stumbled across a Pep Boys sale on the Dolphin Backup Sensor like this one at JC Whitney. It mounts on the hitch and plugs into the trailer power outlet. No drilling and easily removable. Total install time was about 5 minutes. Pep Boys has them for $49 plus a $20 rebate on close out (not returnable). Lowest cost anywhere else was $150.

 

So you're getting gold rims?

 

I was thinking about duct taping the wife or a small child to the tailgate... Heck, I have 3 of them so there's spares!

 

With three kids, you could put one on each corner and one in the middle. Then you'd have directional sensors.

 

I didn't think about that... lol I figured I'd start with the oldest and work down....

2 of them are still in diapers so it would be easy for the wife to clean up....

 

Yeah, but calibrating them for their inherent different volumes would be a pain.
