Wheel Spacers with 255/85/16

I'm running 255/85/16 KM2's on stock TRD wheels. I am thinking of adding some wheel spacers for a more aggressive look. Will 1" be enough to make a difference? Anyone have pics of their 255's with spacers?

just go with 1.25" spidertraxx, the difference between 1" and 1.25" won't be that noticeable, and you'll know you're getting quality stuff when going with spidertraxx

 

Cool. It looks like Spidertrax it is.. Now - what is the verdict on the extended length lug nuts? I see some people mention it as neccessary - and others say only neccessary in the front? If so - what are the best ones to get?

You might rub by adding the spacers

Adding spacers is a waste of running that sized tire. You will rub everywhere front and rear.

Function > Form

If you really think adding 1-1/4" to the depth of your wheels will make or break the "looks" of your truck and you will be unhappy if you don;t go wider other issues need to be addressed.

You don't need extended lug nutz with Spidertrax - they come with them. Look into them more and you will see what I mean.

"some people" are usually people talking out of there rear and have no real clue. When listening to people on the interwez only trust people who seem to know what they are talking about. Many many people in here "parrot" incorrect info they saw somewhere else and took out of context.

The beauty of a 255/85 is that it tucks up in the fenders.....when you add width you will rub the fenders badly.

Man I wish mine tucked that nice in the rear. Stupid TX Pro wheels with your different backspacing! Mine only rub in the rear when wheeling, no rub up front at all.

 

Thank you for the input.. I am now greatly questioning if the spacers would be worth it. I do often find my rear tires tucked behind the fenders while offroad. The thought of them just tearing into the fender doesn't sounds pleasing.

 

No wheel spacers but 255/85/16 BFG KM2s on 1st Gen TRDs (the equivelent of 3/4" spacer due to less BS)

 

It would be nice to be able to add spacers, since 255s essentially add a lot of height while decreasing the effective width, which sounds like a handling no-no. But, if it forces the tire up into the fender, than yeah it's pointless.

I wonder how it would be on a 1st gen?

 

Randy do you get any rub in the rear off road? I believe your 1st Gen wheels have the same backspace as my TX Pros.

No rub in the rears with the Dakars.
The fronts will rub very slightly on the bump on the mud flap if I bounce the front hard enough at full lock (it happened 3 times so far). If I took the mud flaps off it probably would never hit.
