hiya Camper. My needs are almost exactly as yours. I chose the SR5, Access, V6. tow package, 4x4. The TRD sat just a little bit higher, enough to be a strain on the wife. I personally liked the SR5 seats better. Didn't feel the extra cost was worth what I would not need.

Although, really, the TRD looks a little more rough and ready for anything.

I was in a similar situation as you guys and after test driving the three 4x4 models (OR, Sport and SR5) I went with the OR. Just liked the extra options on the OR and felt like if I went with the SR5 I would always regret and feel like I settled. Whether folks like it or not, TRD definitely makes the truck more desirable in the long run.

I'm planning on building my own camper and was going to see if I could get another camera to mount in the camper. When you take off the tailgate there are connector covers for the camera connectors that come with the truck to keep the connectors clean.

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
SR5, and like the others said, you can modify it to your liking as the years go by. A locker isn't essential for most all off road situations aside from rock crawling, which I don't see you doing very often! I've got a locker in my Jeep and have maybe used it twice in the past 5 years I've had it in there.

many assume TRD means "off road"

like many assume discontinuing the TRD Sport "upgrade" means discontinuing the TRD Sport.

it's Amerika...you get used to it............

    Sure

but I was referring to the smaller TRD Offroad rear end grenading rather than the more stout TRD Sport in response to BlueT's post

I'm happy with my SR5. I was planning on installing a lift soon after I bought it so there wasn't much sense in paying for a suspension I was going to take off. SR5 seats are very comfortable to me. If I need an inverter it needs to be in the cab not outside. Skewp is nice but not worth the extra money just for that. Mine has the LSD in it just like the sport. My last Taco was an SR5 and I drove it for 12 years. No complaints whatsoever.

    I was 12, 40 years ago.

bought my 1st dirt bike...with $150.00 cash. Cash I earned myself working as a carpenters helper...twenty-five cents an hour.

It took me two years of summers and weekends to save the money.

One of the first valuable lessons my dad taught me...there would be many more.

Personally having a sr5 i love it is been good to me however i must admit that e-locker would have come in handy sometimes. Eventhough you think you may not needed thats when it comes and bites you in the a.. personally imma be buying a locker soon for my sr5 however you have the opportunity to avoid that. i dont wheel ften however it can be PIA saver.
