Help choosing lift please

Alright, so i have a 2000 4wd and I'm ready for a lift. I've lurked this forum but still have some questions...

First of all, is choosing what I need to go with. I want to do if right but keep it somewhat basic and cheap. My range is 1.5-2.5", with 2" being ideal. I know i need need shocks all around and new leaf packs. I was looking at bilsteins 5100 all around but what is my lift range on the front. Or what springs do i need to reach my range? And for the rear, are there 2" leaf packs? or what are my options?

Secondly, what all do i need to prep for the lift? I read extended brake lines and such, what all do i need?

You can do 5100's set at 2.5" with stock coils or OME 881's with 5100's at 0" and match the rear with a AAL, shackle, 3 leaf AAL or full rear leaf pack.

Alright so i know i want 5100s all around and a wheelers 1.5" 5 leaf pack in the rear. should i run the bilsteins at max with the stock springs for 2.5" or get OME springs?

And what do i need to accommodate for the lift?

Get new springs. running the 5100's at 2.5" is not ideal since you are preloading your spring at ride height. The new springs along with the lower setting on the 5100's will give you the same lift with better travel and ride.
As far as preparing, usually new brake lines aren't necessary for 2" rear lift, and new UCA's shouldn't be necessary either, diff drop kit is debateable, but that is stuff that can be added later if you find you need them.
A buddy with a shop and lift and some air tools are always a good idea to at least try to find
Other than that, plenty of ice cold beverages a radio and a free weekend should be good!

Hey guys, i'm wanting to install the ultimate lift kit to my '03 Tacoma Double Cab 4x4 and I have a couple questions. The ultimate lift kit can be set from 0"-3 1/2". If I set the coilovers at 3 1/2", will I need the 3/4" top plate spacers? And if so, can the 1/4" spacer used to correct driver's side lean be used with the top plate spacers? Any help will be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!!

 

Coilover set past 2.5" will ride like shit and not only will it ride stiff as hell you will put a lot of stress on your CV's and ball joints especially on a 4x4. Your front axle will hate you forever.

 

wait... 881s on bilstiens set at 0 will give 2.5" inches?

 

All truck is different but yeah it should. If not you can always add a top plate spacer 1/4 or 1/2 that is perfectly safe and fine to achieve more.
