2k mile maintenance?

Just wanted any feedback on what maintenance should be done for my truck. Its got a little over 2k miles. Anyone who can help, thanks!

I read somewhere that Toyota recommends replacing the engine and transmission every 2,000 miles...

 

That's what the manual says, I talked to a guy that stayed at a Holiday Inn Express once, you can push it to 3,000 to 4,000 if you get the blinker fluid flush at the 2,000 mile service.

 

Well with all the *GREAT* advice offered so far.. I would just advise you to follow your owner's manual. 5000 mi / 6 mo oil changes.. and there is a detailed maintenance guideline by mileage in your owners book.

 

2k mile mantinace usually requires you get new elves under the hood, As well as a new troll under the rear differential change. By 2k they are usually tired and hungry.

 

In the Ford manual, there is an entire chapter on how to re-torque the bed bolts. From what I understand not even the factory has read that chapter, any input on that Chris?

 

Couple suggestions..
I drained my oil at 500 miles and went to synthetic.
OTHER TO DOs:
Check tire pressure,
Check windshield washer fluid
Put do not steal hose clamp on tailgate.
Check how tight the spare tire is on...

Burn out carb a couple of times

 

I'd change the oil if you haven't already, cheap Insurance. In prehistoric times you would change oil after the first 500 miles, now they (Toyota) says 5000 but I always do maintenance before mfg schedule, I'm in for the long run.
