I'm going to change out my stock suspension with a set of 5100s. Should I reuse my stock coils or change them also? If so any suggestions?

I'm also getting a new set of wheels and tires. I'm thinking of going to a 17 with 265 70 17 nitto terra grappler, trail grappler or the cooper st maxx. Thoughts on the rubber? Any suggestions on wheel and tire size is also welcome. Some of my buds are telling me to go with an 18. My Wheel guy thinks the 18 will need a more profile tire.

    Thanks

Regarding the 5100's, it depends on how much money you want to spend. I just reused my stock coils, but for $150 more you can get a set of eibach springs.

Regarding the wheels and tires, my opinion has always been that anything over 16" looks too big on a 1st gen Tacoma. 17" can look ok if it's done right, but 18" is way too big in my opinion.

Also keep in mind that the bigger wheel you get, the more expensive they are and the more expensive the tires are for it.

Stay on a 15" rim man. Cheaper tires!

If you get new coils OME makes some that a close to stock height. 880s or 881s for a slight lift.

Eibachs are great coils but a stiffer amd give over 3" of lift so you'll have to lift the rear as well

How do you use your truck?

Palm Beach? Forget the 5100s, and go for a spacer lift in front and huge blocks in the back, and the biggest rims with the lowest profile tires you can find.
