Tom does not own Spikes, he is the CEO. We Just built the owner of Spikes Super Duty and I can say personally that he is a great guy and we love his products!

Honestly, your google results don't really do anything to prove shady business practices. A few interweb knowitalls, some inter-industry banter and bunch happy customers was what I read. There will always be haters (believe me haha) but for any small business in the end it all comes down to having each customer leave happy at the end of the day. Thats our goal here and I know its theirs as well.

They certainly have a lot of work to do to make each of their customers happy. People are cutting their lowers into pieces.....

If you don't believe price gouging, advertising deceptive specs, and touting "facts" that prove false isn't shady, you have something wrong with you.

Tell ya what, you want to buy it, go for it. When it breaks and you're forced to call Tom, Good luck.

Tom claims to own Spikes, and if that isn't true, the "Owner" needs to hire a different "CEO" there to represent his company...

I already have a spikes AR, as does my boss and my bosses boss and several other people that work here at the shop. Thousands upon thousands of rounds later no issues what so ever. I am very pleased with my product.

I'm not trying to get into it with you, you're entitled to your opinions and I to mine. The joys of the internet

I'm wanting an AR-15 for deer hunting/target shooting and I have no idea where to start. What should I get? I want something simple that will work then I can add on if I want to. :notsure:

I don't know too much on ARs, though I'd say that 5.56/.222 is a bit small and you'd be better off with a .308 for deer, I'm sure the other guys on here will chime in with more/better advice, I'm
Actually gonna be getting an AR within the next few weeks (I hope)

    Good luck

...You could go 300 Blackout for whitetail deer sized targets, get a 5.56 upper and a .22 conversion, and have a cheap range rifle....

I think I would rather go for the 5.56/.222 since I already have a deer rifle and this would be used more for target shooting. Not like competition shooting. More like putting targets everywhere and just shooting them. Now to decide on a brand. Which idk what is best. I prefer something cheaper since it would be my first AR.

if just paper punching, .22 or 9mm upper because the ammo is cheaper than 5.56.. Have fun!

True, but why not pack a punch to some targets once in a while? :D I do mainly use a .22 for stuff like that, but having an AR for a change would be cool.

You use an AR with a .22 kit in it then yank the kit for 5.56 :)

That's thinkable. Now just to figure out a brand to get.
