It all depends on what you want. Every order is different.
They have a scanner and can copy any templates you give them. It also depends on quantity and material. If you are cutting chromoly plate it will of course be more expensive vs. mild steel.

 

as of right now im thinking cold rolled 3/16

 

3/16 and 1/4 cold roll is the most common so that will be the best price.

 

how do they charge? by the foot?

 

Everything I do is always different in price. It all depends on the pieces you are gutting cut out and how much material and quantity is being used.
Are you doing suspension plates? Basic gussets? Do you need them scanned? Or do you have the pieces programmed in CAD already and can send it to them. I know they go by foot but some pieces are shaped weird and measuring by the foot doesnt always work. I wish I can give you a solid answer on price but it does vary.

 

plates to box my frame but gonna leave the tire carrer and exhaust hanger. just wanna see if its worth buying cutting wheels and burning myself up or pay someone to do it with a water jet

 

and i would make cardstock templates

card stock on the frame, trace it onto cardstock, cut cardstock, go to metal, trace on metal, cut that bitch up with a plasma cutter, BAM frame plates

Your confusing that with something else, most fabricators use a plasma

I might have one

 

If it is just for basic frame plates I would just plasma it (if you know someone with a plasma) or do the good old classic cutting wheel

 

im gonna make the templates first. then ill see if someone has one. or ill buy one as i have a few things i wanna make

 

Better be ready to spend some dough a good one is $1k+
