I have 2 1/2" of front lift and LR UCA's , I don't rub . TW member Teamfast runs 275/70/17 , 2 1/2" of front lift and rubs his stock UCA's at full lock

I don't flex my truck too severely so I can't say whether or not you would rub then or not

its a happy medium......fills up the wells decent and avoids the huge loss in mpg and need to trim. I think with stock UCAs you are gonna be hit or miss with rubbing depending on tires and exact dimensions. Some people put on 285s and "dont rub" but they never leave the pavement and live where its flat I feel. For a daily driver sized tire for a 2.5 to 3" of lift the 275 is a nice choice.

OZ your truck is pimp...Im def considering that tire size when I put on my 885s and dakars.

thanks to all it looks like 275/70 is the way I am going to go, it narrows my range of tires, was looking for the Nitto Terra Grap's (have them on my wife's jeep) but they don't make that size...

Yes OZ, nice looking truck...looks like mine :)

BFG MT's seem to be the only tire in that size... I do a lot of highway driving and need an AT type...I have BFG's on there now but wanted something different...

What do you have on yours OZ?

    Mine are LT275/70/17 Hankook ATm's

Just so you know , there are some online tire vendors that advertise this tire in a C rated version , that is false . In this size the only version is an E rated . I confirmed this via email with Hankook

The Goodyear MTR (kevlar) comes in that size (275/17) but that is overkill, looks like I may just have to go with the BFG's again..

Interesting... I found a 255/80/17 in a BFG MT KM2.. this might be the way to go higher...

I did some research on 275/70/17. Here was a list I had compiled. I'm sure there are some more out there, but there are some decent tires on this list.

    Goodyear Wrangler AT/S (c load) 10.9" wide x 32.4" tall
Goodyear Wrangler SilentArmor (c load) 11.0" wide x 32.2" tall
    Goodyear Wrangler MT/R with Kevlar (e load) 11.0" wide x 32.4" tall
    Mastercraft Courser A/T (c load) 11.1" wide x 32.2" tall
    Mastercraft Courser C/T (c load) 11.3" wide x 32.2" tall
    BFG A/T KO (e load) 11.0" wide x 32.2" tall
    Firestone Destination A/T (c load) 11.0" wide x 32.2" tall
Mickey Thompson Baja STZ (e load) 11.0" wide x 32.2" tall
    Cooper Discoverer AT3 (c load) 11.1" wide x 32.2" tall
    Cooper Discoverer AT3 (e load) 11.0" wide x 32.2" tall
    Cooper Discoverer S/T (c load) 11.3" wide x 32.2" tall
    Laramie TrailCutter M&S (c load ?) 11.3" wide x 32.2" tall
    Maxxis 761 Bravo A/T (6-ply) 11.1" wide x 32.4" tall
    Maxxis Bighorn M/T (8-ply) 11.1" wide x 32.2" tall
Big O Tires Big Foot M/T (c load) Actual sizes not shown
Hankook Dynapro ATM (e load) Actual sizes not shown

I ended up going with 265/70/17 Duratracs. I really like them so far. I have 5100's set at .85. My wheels are 4.9" bs (stock is 5.5"). I think you would have to have no more than 4.5" bs for a 285 to fit without spacers. I think a 275 would fit with my wheels with no problems. It would be close on the stock wheels. Duratracs didn't come in 275 and I wanted to try them. I lost about 1/2 mpg with the 265/70/17 over the stock 265/65/17. If I had went 275/70/17, it was going to be the Maxxis Bighorn M/T's.

Look at XXXX truck... He's got them on stock steelies with minimal lift and zero rubbing.

Personally I drank the kool aid & just went to a 295/75r16

But I'm stupied like that...

I am right now getting the 185/70/17 mounted. We did a test fit on the front and in hard turn (full lock) I hit my UCA (TC UCA)

No rub at the front or rear of the wheel well, the only concern we have is the little pointy piece of metal that is part of the spindle towards the top, but it looks like below there once was one of those but it is ground down.

Now, if I do any off roading it WILL rub under articulation..

    Here are pics

This is the little nub that I come close to, it's not touching or rubbing but if any thing comes close this is it... just drove 10 miles home freeway and stopped in some parking lots and speed bumps in my area and no rub

that looks good. here are some pics of my buddy's tacoma with spidertrax adapters for comparison sake. 285s with toytec's ultimate lift setup. he chopped off some of the wheel liner and we did a CMC for clearance.

Looks god but I am afraid if I went with spacers I would HAVE to do the CMC, right now everything "fits" only thing I am learning is my lock out limits when parking and things like that...

If I do get the wheels spaced out I plan to go with your F5 rims (assuming you can get me a little more back spacing or less don't know the correct terminology) but I need to go about 1.5 inches higher before I do that to clear the cab mounts if I push the wheels further out of the wheel well

oh, question I forgot to ask, with the Spidertrax (they only come in 1.25 inches) are they safe? The Tire dealer (Discount) said they won't touch wheels with those..
