So its official, my friend bought the Smurf from me, We are sad to see it go, but at least its going to a good home, and I'll still be able to wheel with it. Plus he was already a TW member (had a awesome 1st gen S/C Tacoma)

Here are a few pix of him wheeling it for the first time, ( no way I would have went thru that mud puddle, he will be cleaning out mud for days! LOL)

I just need the measurement of your wrist. So tape measure wrapped around tight on your wrist and I will be able to make it to where it fits.

Yeah, I was happy to find the DC-2s. The 4" backspace solved my frame rub problem and they look good doing it. Been thinking of going to 285/75 but not sure the rub won't come back.

    Great minds think alike.

Just flatten the pinch weld with a hammer and you shouldn't rub...

    Do it now.

Johnathan/silas, does Choice have DOM tubing about the size I would need for some custom links? and would they let me buy just a couple of feet of it? I may pick up some.

I honestly don't know about the DOM but I would assume so. And I don't think they'd let you buy just a few feet unless you find it in athe scrap section.... Cloudy would know more about it though.....

you don't need DOM IMO. Just get some HREW mild steel, .250 wall if you want to go overboard. Do you know how you're going do the ends of the links yet?

I have a set of Stock links coming in the mail soon. Once I go to fab the new ones I am going to just use the stock ends, cut the bar off, and grind them down and notch the new tubing to fit on them and weld that.

    cool.

if you want, we could make you a set of these

    http://www.yotatech.com/f88/custom-3rd-gen-4runner-links-213245/

You would have to buy the rod ends, but we could make the inserts to thread the rod ends into the link on the lathe. Only thing is you would have to come down to socorro haha.
Also we might have some leftover 1.25" OD .120 wall DOM 4130 laying around that will never get used on the baja cars because it is way too thick and heavy. I don't think anyone would notice it going away:D

    Just an option.

Yeah I saw that thread, that guy went all out. I dont want Heims though, just regular bushings type ends. My shocks already limited my droop anyway, so I dont want more travel.

Yeah that makes sense. Heims need more maintenance too. Well let me know if you want the links TIG welded.

Did you ever get that welder going?
