What should I expect from a country that was populated by American draft dodgers?

    Thank you.

Go for a M&P Sport and a Primary Arms microdot or Vortex Sparc.

Academy sells the M&P Sport. You need neither a forward assist or a dust cover, and if you decide you want one later on, you can throw a new upper on there.

    Good luck!

Actually I will, I'll be in Vegas in October...But thanks for the kind words!
First of all had you read my post I agree with the right to defend yourself....I just don't see the point of the AR-15 outside of LEO/Military applications...a bullet from a glock works the same. Also bullet proof vests are illegal to own up here...so thus no need for the AR here. And by the way, we can still buy and own pistols as well as the all mighty AR....they have been regulated to shit, so psyco's for the most part can't purchase them and shoot up a theater.

I think the zombie apocalypse is pretty funny, yes its a badass looking gun, I just think people should have to pass more than a 20min questionnaire at the gun shop before you are allowed to buy any gun. If you have nothing to hide, no prior convictions or run in's with the law then a couple of background checks by the local police before you buy shouldn't be an issue

    I hope your right!

bloviate, <--- you should get a triple word score for that one!!! :)

I don't think outlawing it would work....just make it harder to buy so only the safe responsible owners can own it. I still can't justify blowing away rabbits and mice with a semi automatic....

Blah blah blah, here's the pro 'merica chest thumper.... lets seperate church and state then we'll talk, and I don't think you'd ever see Buddha running around with an AR/AK

ok.......several thousand people apparently is the entire population of Canada. Its not my fault my country has an ask questions first instead of a shoot first mentality...

I'm just curious why people need semi automatics when a pistol seems like it should be enough protection.

I like to stir the pot but I also like reasonable explanations that don't include.....because we can...

...if you understood the meaning behind the 2A and also of the equivalent, and often more specific, rights codified in the majority of state constitutions, you might have a different perspecitve... semi-automatic is a principle of operation that has been around 100+ years, hardly some new uber-deadly technology... so, turn in your 1911, ...that's a semi-automatic pistol, ..you might hurt yourself, it's a radical new design for killing booku people, and thus "someone" has decided there is no "point" to allowing it...

i'm sure your gov't appreciates folks w/ this line of thinking, ...emboldens the power of the ruling-class....

The AR that the military/LEO use is a completely different gun than what you see pictured in this thread.

The Military/LEO AR is a fully-automatic... select fire, capable of firing a 3 round burst with a single pull of the trigger.

The civilian model fires exactly ONE bullet with each pull of the trigger.
People tend to go to jail and lose their gun rights for modifying their ARs to fire more than one round.

It is POSSIBLE to obtain the approvals (and pay a tax) to obtain a fully automatic weapon in most states, but that is still not going to be a modern AR. It's going to be a transferable machine gun made, IIRC, before 1986.

Those guns are also VERY expensive... Not something that someone is going to buy to shoot up a theater.

They are regulated here as well.
Convicted felons, anyone declared 5150, and anyone with ANY domestic violence conviction carries a LIFETIME firearm prohibition.
They can't even legally touch ammo.
Those are federal laws and apply in all 50 states and all territories.

Additionally, many states have further restrictions.
California has a number of misdemeanors that carry a 10-year prohibition, as well as a couple more that carry a lifetime prohibition, one of which is two or more convictions of brandishing a weapon (firearm or other) in the presence of an officer. Another is attempting to take an officer's weapon (gun, club, tazer...)

Dude its to protect us from our own government just in case they do something tyranical and stupid. It would be hard to defend ourselves from a Russian or Rogue American invasion with bolt actions. Imagine how bad Syria would be if those rebels didn't have the few guns they have. Its nothing more than insurance of our rights in the future. Also your comment about psychos not getting weapons, ask the victims in Toronto how well your gun regulation works. Oh and when thugs stop using AKs and traveling in groups maybe your argument would be valid. Ask the Korean people that defended their whole way of life and all their investments from the looters during the rodney king riots how awesome ARs are.

make it harder how? Anyone can buy a gun and then turn crazy once they have them... Same thing goes for a car. smart resonable person buys a car, decides to have a few beers and makes a mistake and drives drunk, kills a family in a head on.
Did the car kill those people or did the guy driving?
A guy I know killed a man in a head on bc he fell asleep a the wheel. he went to jail for it. no one threw a fit and demanded toyota stop making sequioa's bc it was the better vehicle in the wreck... The guy was the reason behind the death, not the inanimate object

and I CAN justify killing rabits with a semi auto:cool:. I actualy shot a spider with mine on sunday.
