just paid for a set of General Grabber Baja M/T 35x12.5x17

needless to say more clearancing to be done while driving it on the trail , no more rubbing anything i hope

You really like those Grabber Mt's eh? You would think they suck in mud and anything wet..

 

I think its possible to go directly to the lolo motorway trailhead on Wednesday and start the trail late in the afternoon. Then on Thursday we could probably do a good chunk of the rest of the trail. We could then camp on thurs eve at the spot Ben & I used last year. It is big enough for 5 or 6 rigs. From there it is only a couple of hours out to the highway. That would be Friday morning.

The only thing wrong with a plan like this is the lack of a shower. It would be great to be able to take a shower after Magruder and before starting Lolo.

Compared to the Magruder, there are more options for access on the lolo. If someone could not stay to camp on thurs eve, there is access to highway 12 in the middle section. IIRC it is FS107 that goes from FS500 to highway 12.

BAJA MT's lol

i went away from the General Grabbers, the baja MT's are a much better mud tire

I'd also like to state they are the only tire ive known to actually have a good sidewall!, a lot LT tires end up being a 2 ply sidewall and than are no good when you actually start deflating

ask the guys how low the PSI and the flex my grabbers had

 

I have not had trouble with sidewalls ( :looks for a piece of wood: ) with the 3 sets of BFGs I've run.

I've certainly seen sidewall punctures on the goodyears tho. jlee had issues at moab with duratracs and there is another guy from up my way, all.on.black, that had trouble with MT/Rs which are supposed to be extra durable with kevlar materiels in their sidewalls.

With BFGs, what I've noticed is the more miles you run them aired down, the better the sidewalls flex. But this might be true for all mud tires.

My KMs are amazing in how much the sidewall deflects and their traction in dirt and rocks and up until this past weekend, in deep, sloppy mud is outstanding.

i guess the other option though is i run my 33's which will last one more big trip :S

nope the General Gabber Baja MT, but i think its bee discontinued.... so they must have me a set of MTZ ready to go on, im just always on the fence ith Mickey thompson tires, you either hate em or love em

 

Ah, now I see. Yeah, the general baja mt is a nice looking tire. The tread looks a lot like the original BFG KMs. I could not find anyone selling them tho so you must be right about them being discontinued.

 

Is that the only one you have?
