Again, I have no dealings with them/him what so ever, but I doubt very seriously they are hand winding there arms in house, totally possible, but unlikely. If so, these arms are VERY pricey. Sounds to me like he/they are putting on the sales pitch, again, this is ONLY my opinion. OK help me remember, a crawler motor runs very thin wire/windings, in a single strand I presume, in a very high wind count, correct? This would produce the most torque, with little to no top end or RPM, because the restriction of the thin windings flow of electrons.

If the brushes are broken in from the factory, no need, otherwise, it will make your motor last longer. This due to less arcing, and deterioration of the soft copper comutator surface.

    Thanks for the info.

How much for your comutator lathe, by the way?

1/8 Exceed mad beast, nitrorcx sells it for $194 rtr or artr for $174.

I think this thing with 4 wheel steer and in a 1/5 scale size it will be unstoppable, I now wish they would get the parts I need back in stock so I can make it happen!

Let me dig it out and see how many tools/bits I have (new ones) it is a Cobra Extreme, IIRC.

A 13.5 shouldn't be too much, remember, sometimes slower is faster. I'm running a Novak Balistic 6.5 (way more than I need) but I do have the GTB set up with a soft profile and the timing turned down quite a bit on the motor. Also our track has a lot of damp loam, not hardpack clay. We love rooster tails....

Wait, isn't it the Exceed MaxStone? The Mad Beast is nitro-powered and the one you have is clearly is electric.

I'm getting kind of tired...so I could totally be off base here.

Can you take some video of it in action?

I just checked out the ones they have on NitroRCX (I hate the dude that does the reviews - he sounds like a total dumbass). Those things look pretty slick.

I still wonder they hold up to actual crawling, though.

Look forward to a vid if you can get one. As cheap as they are, it is quite tempting.

Just stumbled upon an entire section on RCC full of pics of these things.

They look to be pretty damn durable.

If I ever decide to get into the comp world, I may have to use one of these as my starting point.

    Good find!

Yeah I know what you mean that's why I'm going with the 13.5 its just a little more power so I can clear these jumps better. I tend to do better with the slower motors haha I'll just work my way up to thos 6.5t's some day. For now I willkeep practicing with the slower motors
