    Test is flawed, I scan those things methodically left to right starting at the top, then top down starting on the left, and finally at diagonals from top left and top right. Just looking around is inefficient.

    You wanna know why?

    It's because the old connection (pipe thread) is harder for a dumbass to get sealed up properly (you know, with pipe dope). This results in a service call where the customer is told that it's an installation issue and not covered by warranty. Then the dirtbag customer refuses to pay the service call. So the technician does a little "creative writing" and scams Whirlpool out of $95 bucks (almost covers our costs to run a service call, not quite).

    So they changed it. Most dumbasses can handle a hose bib and compression fitting without too much trouble. Some still insist on coating everything with pipe dope, which is supposed to go on PIPE threads, but at least it doesn't cause leaks, like insufficient pipe dope on pipe threads will.

    It seems to work. I haven't had a service call for a "leaking water valve" since they started using these fittings.:rolleyes:
